To the peeps on Year Two or more - anyone had the opportunity to revisit a shoot from early on in your project that you just weren't happy with, or just wanted to see how your skill level had improved along the journey? It's one of the first shots I did into the start of my Year Two - a reshoot of a shot I did 3 days into my project. I'd love to see your "re-do's" if you got em!
Here's the original, from Day 3 of my project:
@pwallis , oh this is great.......it makes me want to do some comparisons! unfortunately i started in March, but come March 2012, I am going to do this!
@paulaag well it's not too early to do a reshoot - I was just using a one year time frame since I know a lot of the people I interact with are now on year two:)
@shutterbugger I didn't realize that was a reshoot! Or maybe I did, but didnt' check out the first one. But anyways - look at your mad processing skillz!
@pwallis here you go.

@pwallis oh I have one of those too from my first day. And for my other one, I REFUSE to take a photo of cheese covered tater tots again. Ugh, it may be my worst ever photo.
@pwallis Truth be told, I've been starting random ish all day for reasons that we have discussed on the FB and what-not and so forth. :) I just got carried away!! :D
First attempt, from February 2010 (my first year):
Second attempt, from July 2011 (my second year):
Yes, the second one is definitely better. (Although, with a whole eighteen months' experience of aimlessly waving my camera around in between the two shots, I'd be a little disappointed if it weren't!)
Maybe I should revisit the Fye Bridge location again, now I'm in my third year??
I'm only 16 days into this project, but want to say that I hope a year from now I hope someone posts this same challenge and I can revisit one of my photos. AND, I hope I see the impressive improvements that I see in your photos!
I am in my third year and I plan on revisiting many of my older subjects this year. Last year I took a photo at the same location once a month to see both my progress and the changes at that location. When I revisit a location, I change my manual photo settings to see if I can get something better that I like.
@sweetmommyof3 The key to improving here is by participating, asking questions, reading technical conversations and giving and getting feedback. And since you mentioned it, you can post this conversation next year.
what a fantastic thread. its so fun to see everybody's transformations and inspiring to know that I still have a chance. LOL. Im only half way through year one but have already noticed a fair amount of improvement in my own project so Im hoping I follow in all of your footsteps. :) Keep the pictures coming!!
I love this topic, Paula! At first I thought, I need to make this a goal this week, and then I realized I actually did this tonight, without even knowing about this thread. Here is my third daughter (and my granddaughter) on her birthday last January:
