Hi All, hope everyone is having a nice day. Are any members into street photography? Please feel free to share. I'm actually quite interested in these images.
Here is a photo from today that I was able to capture.
taken with my 50mm f1.8
@ukdanae Thanks! I think for a moment, but he was really into his book. When he looked over at me I was pointing the camera right at him. I acted as if I were taking a photo of the bush behind us.
@pwallis Wow, that is a wonderful shot. You truly captured a moment. I wonder what he was thinking. Love these photos!
@grecican Quin, your shots are absolutley stunning. Well captured, and the moment is recorded. Gives me the chills. Hope you don't mind if I follow you.
@roth Sue love the santa and the edit, it makes you wonder if the security guard and him are friends...or was he escorting santa to a boys and girls club to give out presents, and he was there to protect him...hmm
@beautifulthing Sheely, love it. Yeah I was trying to muster up my courage to get up close and personal. The man on the bench looks as if he had a long day at work and was napping before a next shift.
@arielmagyawejr thanks Ariel, your photos make me want to pee my pants anyway! I bet you could capture some wonderful street photos. Thanks for the link to Robin's feed, I'll be sure to check them out.
@jasehoad jase such a great collection you've got! The second and third photos you posted are brilliant!
@angievega Angie, lovin those images, the essence of human beings are forever recorded. It's crazy to think these moments are often overlooked inour busy day to day lives.
@smapp Dang Slater!!! What a Portrait, indeed your picture is worth a thousand words...and then some! Truly amazing.
@roth Cool shots! I dig how the young boy and what looks to be his father joining in with the band. So great!
@snaggleture Thank you very much, I'm still trying to find my way with Street but totally love doing it. You may want to check out Constance Brinkley @seattle as well, she has some amazing street
Street photography is one of my favourite genres but since I'm the world's worst street photographer I'm going to share some of @mimosa's extraordinary work
@rich57 Richard, man I'm speechless, wonderful images you've captured. All of the pics you posted have so much character and so different from the next image! You've got a keen eye good sir!
I don't have any photographs which were actually taken on the street, per se, but I do have some candid style shots taken in very public locations. Will that do? (The second one actually got me thrown out of the shopping centre! Does that make a difference?)
@asrai Lee, Great photos, your subway images are so awesome! Keep up the great photos!
@dieter Thanks for sharing Mimosas images! btw, I enjoy your pics! keep snapping!
@manek43509 Sure it counts, I don't really know much about atreet photos..only that they are in public places..Love the slow shutter you used for the escelator shot! keep snapping!
@catalfonso cata, such beautiful colors and the images are so powerful, yet most people overlook these moments. Thank you for sharing your world with us here.
@smapp thanks, I searched the boards before I posted this up. I saw a few members posting articles about street photos but still could'nt find a discussion like this.
Thanks everyone for the links, networks and contributions. Your photos gave me the chills, in a good way. Humanity is profound yet suttle at times. Today in the US is Martin Luther King Jr. Day. I am thankful for his profound impact on society and the world. Such diversity and unique paths you all have.
I haven't done much but would really like to. It's just not safe to walk around with a camera on the streets of South Africa. It's a shame because we have such a diverse population. I took this one inside a restaurant but I love it:
@deens Nadine, what a wonderful shot. this looks like a scene in a movie. I love how the group is in their own World. the two playing chess and the wife, reading her Vitamin book. Superb! I hear you on saftey, that is first and foremost an important thing to keep in mind. My good friend is from South Africa, she is actually a world champion Jiu-Jitsu Player. Her name is Penny Thomas. I think shes in SA right now..
Sorry for the ramble, thanks for sharing and joining the discussion!
ok we all heard of street photography, (and im gonna start following quite a few from this thread) but how about street portraits. Candid s are great I wont lie i like em better, but Im relatively new to photography and am a bit shy in general, so im avoiding conflict and asking permission first, and looking forward to spring when the market in our big town is full of people.
