Bingley Locks drained and open to the public

January 29th, 2012
I've been to Bingley Locks a few years back and they are quite an impresive sight, at the moment they have been drained to enable the replacement of the gates http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-leeds-16775606

Unfortunatly I'm a four hour drive away and I'm working :(

Has anyone been there this weekend? Have you taken any photos? Is so I'd love to see them.

We went both up and down the Bingley Five Rise lock system during a narrowboating holiday with friends in September 1981.
It was spectacular then and it's still every bit as spectacular. I really enjoyed those video clips showing the work they were doing as well.

My grandad used to have a boat moored close to the five rise locks and every summer I went for a weeks holiday and up the locks we would go, happy days, would love to see some pictures too
