Wow..I wonder why Canon came out with this when the old Canon Mark 5d ii is just as pricey and good. I was saving for the new Canon Mark 5d iii…any thoughts on this as to why Canon came out with this since they just made a new full frame?
@staci2171 ... because Nikon did? ;) I bought the new Nikon D600 (read my initial review), and the same comments apply: if you're a raw shooter, you may want to wait until Adobe Camera Raw supports the camera before switching. And forget about using any of your existing crop frame lenses. But yes, if the 6D is anything like the Nikon D600, you will LOVE the quality. The 6D even comes with built in wireless and GPS, which are add ons for the Nikon.
@cameronknowlton lol..yes I just read because Nikon did on the web…dugh, of course…;) I have all full frame lenses except one…been saving for my Canon full frame…still not convinced to buy the 6d just yet…gonna wait for more reviews and photos. I do shoot only raw…hmmm? But the wireless is kind of neat, I think? Thanks for the input. :)
hmmm the word on some other forums is that most will just save up a bit more and get the 5D MK3.
With the exception of modelling shoots, where generally not much movement is required.
@chewyteeth so its all good for you to get it :)
Also another FYI, i've figured out a way to get a almost 2 year loan with very little repayment if this every caught your fancy lol
@toast
hey I'm happy with my 550D but it looks nice. My next purchase will be a Bronica ETRS film camera I reckon, which I might buy in bits and construct depending. I'm fancying some wider lenses though like the Canon 15-85 and the 10-22 watching a couple of used ones on ebay right now. oh and the 55-250.
@chewyteeth i've got a 10-22 which i love for landscape, just be aware of the distortion at the fringes, especially when its out at the wide end. Also keep in mind that this lens wont fit on the full frame body :)
