Have you ever been contacted by someone you have taken a street photo of?

I was in the city centre with my children a couple of weeks ago and we watched some students being made to do some unusual things by older students. I assumed it was a Fresher's week/O week activity and they were being embarrassed in front of the general public. They did seem to be having a lot of fun and there was a lot of laughter.

I took a few photos and put up the following one as my photo for the day.

Then last Friday I got a couple of comments on my photo from the last two guys in the photo. I don't know how they found the photo because it wasn't tagged with anything obvious for them searching in French but it was a really pleasant surprise and I was wondering if anyone else had been contacted by someone they had taken a street photo of?

On a side note the photo went from 60 views to over 200 over the weekend. Clearly students have a lot of friends.

not here... but one on flickr... i had taken a photo of a street performer posing as marie antoinette and included "marie antoinette" in the tags... she left a comment on the photo :)

I always wonder if someone is going to find a shot of themselves in my street photos and react negatively... but so far, this hasn't happened...

how nice that you got such a good response on this! it does look like they were having a blast!

I'm not sure what I'd do if the subject of this photo contacted me......

Not quite the same but i was taking photos of a busker and he happened to mention that lots of people took photos but he never got to see them. So i took his email address and sent him them. He replied a few days later with some nice comments. Now i've written that not really the same thing at all...

@gwhit123 a nice thing to do and always nice to get positive comments about your photos though.

@northy I haven't taken many 'street' photos for a few reasons but I felt fairly comfortable that these guys wouldn't mind. Nice that you had a similar experience.

@thirtysevenways

I never had anyone in a picture find me, but funnily enough a new 365er recently realised she'd bought the camera she was using from me on ebay a few months ago.

I've actually thought about putting the url for my project on my business card. Then if I take someone's photo and they say they want to see it, I can just send them here.
