I have seen some fantastic shots of the supermoon already - were you able to capture the moon at its closest? We are lucky here as it is a clear...and very cold night so the moon is shining brightly!
Post your shots here as I would love to see them all as I have become fascinated about how a camera captures the moon!
This was a fluke as our first spot we went to the sky was covered in clouds but then we moved down to Surfers Paradise about 45mins later and the clouds went away.
Wow, some amazing images! Thank you everyone for sharing!
Love how each one is different - keep posting!
Guess I had better post my efforts of capturing the supermoon.....
First one was taken on the Saturday which started my excitement...my first real shot of the moon!
This one is totally photo shopped to create an imaginary scene of the supermoon shining over the city...I merged two images and did heap of processing etc but I did take both! And the moon is an image I took last night!
Taken on the 22nd around 10pm, processed today.
Taken with a Pentax Q attached to a Bigma (Sigma 50-500) at around 400mm. The crop factor is 5.6, so that is like a 2200mm lens on a full frame. Stacked images to enhance detail, and brought out the colors using incremental saturation. All explained in this article http://www.photographyblogger.net/shoot-the-supermoon-like-an-astrophotographer/
Very clear night also: the night before was really cloudy, but not the supermoon night

@wildwood28
Was cloudy last night but caught this on Friday night
had to have a bit of fun, the moon by itself is pretty and all but once you seen one you seen em all

In Seattle, WA. I was happy I managed to get it in the daylight without much of a zoom unfortunately.
Unfortunately there's lots of noise. Forgot I had my ISO set to 1600, and hadn't thought to change it when I snapped this picture real quick.
Would be a great topic for a photo book!
