I was going through the shots that i took at Tintern Abbey this evening and almost had a heart attack when I noticed a womans face on this creatures back ~ I am hoping it is just the light ... anyone have any reasonable explanation so I may sleep?
She appears in every photo I took from this spot of this creature
that is super cool! I took a pic a couple months back of an old military ward, and when I got home, this is what the pic turned out like... didnt get much sleep that night..
Light and shadow can do some pretty interesting stuff- especially on something that is textured. Rest easy- I think it's the fairies playing tricks on you.

Look...would everyone stop freaking out and go and help the poor lady out of the people eating beasts stomach. It obviously swallows its victims whole, so again I say hurry, there may still be time.
I see what you are talking about, but if this helps you sleep...it is matted hair and he has been rubbing up against trees and things to get rid of it. Some of the hair has been rubbed short to which makes it appear in the photo that there is an image there.
It can be fairly common in longhaired animals especially if they are shedding.
@debrac thank you soooo much ~ that sounds a great explanation and puts my mind at rest a little more ~ I will go back if I can today and just examine him a bit further just to satisfy my eye.
It's a well known thing. The human brain tends to automatically try to make sense of "patterns" it sees. There's a man's face on the tiles of the gents' at work who watches me every time I sit on the toilet.

Hey if you are worried about that, I've got a grilled cheese sandwich that looks like Mother Teresa and a potato chip with the image of Lady Gaga imbedded in it. ; )
@darylo to me, Dawn, on yours...you need to tell people to open it large and then do that thing we used to do to stare at those posters with allt he tiny photos that if you stare at a point past it and let your eyes go unfocused, suddenly that three D image would appear. Do you remember those? In malls and stuff? haha that is how yours is for me. I stare and stare and then bam! Very realistic man's face appears.
@gigiz .I was thinking the same as I scrolled down the comments. It obviously ate her and she is trying to get out. Or maybe it was just lying on her and had just got up.:-)
thank you all for having a look at these shots, I went back today. No sign of it this time, not sure if it being in a different location or the light being different made a difference ... who knows. Anyway I said I would pop back, I took someone with me this time, and neither of us saw anything in the fur.
@alisonp to the right of the face I can see a man's profile which appears to have a bit of a beard! Know this is probably making things worse but saw it before female face. Had to view large to find it.
