How to make Ace-PicMonkey usable for all filed photos

February 9th, 2014
As an Ace member I have access to PicMonkey, but only find it usable with a previously posted picture on 365. Is it usable to alter ANY of my stored photos without posting them to this site? It's a nice access feature with the upgrades, but only if it's user-friendly off line. Any suggestions? Thanks for the help!

@Weezilou If you Google Picmonkey you will be able to find the site to edit any pictures you have anywhere in your files _ I have just made a collage for the Nature Photos Challenge. Good Luck! :)

@barneyone Thanks so much for the reply, Rita, but the question still is not fully answered... I have used PicMonkey for a long while, but with the Ace membership I can use all the "Royale" features when altering an uploaded photo. I can't seem to have password access to use them outside of one photo at a time while on 365. Suggestions, anyone? (

@Weezilou
As the upgraded access was given in lieu of your Ace membership here, one would assume those features would only be available to you via this site.

@Weezilou you could upload a picture into your project, edit in Picmonkey using royale features, save to your project, view sizes and select the largest available, save to drive, then delete from your project.

@mej2011 I'm thinking that's the deal. Still, has anyone used PM to alter the photo prior to uploading it for the photo-of-the-day, or do you 1>upload and 2>alter the photo so it appears differently a few minutes later?

Sorry to belabor this, but just curious to know what it is I received with the membership. (I never wished to use PM in the past, but thought I'd try it out...)

@jsw0109 ahhh...perhaps that would work! A bit tedious, but I might pick an empty slot on a long-ago day where no one would notice that I ducked in and out of the room!

@Weezilou
Unfortunately, I can not answer that. I was Ace a long time ago, but let my membership lapse. Sorry. Good luck.

Louise, I have a PicMonkey account with the Royale features outside of the Ace access and I generally do my editing before posting. I have used it via the 365 site for a last minute framing a time or two. I really enjoy the ease of use with PicMonkey and would recommend the upgrade if you have a lot of unposted photos you'd like to edit.

@jsw0109 Well,, Jeff, that worked! Thanks.

@peggysirk Thanks, Peggy. I've used a couple of sites "to play around", but was just curious to know if I was missing anything regarding having the ace-PicMonkey usage. I think my question was answered, and perhaps there were others who have wondered about this as well...

Thank you @barneyone @mej2011 as well for helping me out here...

@Weezilou you're welcome! :)

I'm like Peggy. I purchased an upgrade to Picmonkey before I even became an Ace member on 365. So, of course, I can use it on any downloaded photo from anywhere on my computer. It's worth the money ($20 a year) to me (I particularly like the feature where I remove all my wrinkles!)

Thanks @Weezilou ..that has answered some of my questions....i used picmonkey on the internet, without the Royal features..then i upload it here. :-)

@Weezilou
Sorry to chime in again, but just had another thought related to @jsw0109 's comment, you could, I believe, utilize the Ace member "privacy" settings and just hide all of your photos, this way you won't have to worry about deleting them or filling up your followers' newsfeeds. More info on the privacy settings: http://365project.org/support/privacy

@mej2011 Using Jeff's suggestion, I did put a photo on an old date, used the privacy settings, altered it and saved the biggest copy (which was about a 2x3 at 300 dpi) That'll do for now... Thanks so much!
@leestevo Thanks...I'm glad I was able to assist someone else, too, with this question...well, "others" assisted both of us!

I generally use Ribbit (free) for most edits, then access picmonkey for the photo for the few frames picmonkey offers that Ribbit doesn't have.

I use picmonkey www.picmonkey.com, do the watermarks, collages etc and then upload!

@parisouailleurs @allie912 Thanks friends! The issue is resolved satisfactorily... I was looking to see how much access I had to that "for play" with my files of photos... Will use picmonkey and some of the others (like pixlr that I liked) and will be satisfied that there's quite enough out there to use "in all my free time" hahaha! xo

I have just been reading this thread and it's a good idea to use the privacy setting so the photo doesn't show up on the feed but that means that you have to set the privacy function for each of your followers or they will still see it in the feed... is that right?

@bella_ss I think it's easier than that, Sheralee... If you make it "private" and give access to no one, no one sees it. If you gave access to one person, that person would see it on the home page, but no one else I think if I wanted to save the altered photo for myself alone, I would upload it full size, make the alterations, and if I couldn't save it back to my computer via PicMonkey, I could click on the finished picture and select "save image"... See if that doesn't work...

@Weezilou I think you're right now that I read it again, your followers must only see public photos unless you change the setting for them to see private photos. Thank you!
