Thank you for everyone who participated in the New Years 'New Technique of the Month Club'. All your images can be found here: http://365project.org/tags/ntmc
I had every intention to continue this group throughout the year, but it has been brought to my attention that there seems to be a glut of technique dealie-dos going on and for that reason, the ntmc idea is going to the wayside. Hope everyone had fun in Jan playing with new or older toys. Happy photography :)
Well that's a shame Krista, especially as you were one of, if not the first to propose an ongoing technique challenge. Thank you for the effort you put into organising this.
I enjoyed it while it lasted, and will be sad to see it go...Was really looking forward to participating, and following the schedule you set-up. I liked the pacing, and that we got more than one week or two to focus on something if we wanted. The group seemed to have such a nice, cooperative feel, rather than competitive. Thanks so much for everything!
@blueberry1222 I know what you mean, there is the Camera Settings Challenge (Camera Savvy) in a new format and Sandbox (Photoshop).
I was particularly interested in the panning and tilt shift/focus month. As Sandi @gratefulness also says, I like the pacing, one month with a theme. Thank you anyway!!
That's a shame - I liked the idea of a month to practise something new.
Maybe another time. Thanks for all your hard work getting it started and Janaury theme, which had a great response.
I'm disappointed, I feel like this challeng is the best thing that's happened to me photographically speaking in a long time. It pushed me away from my usual nature-based photos and when I did shoot birds, trees, etc. I had to do it differently. Like others here, I liked the monthlong format. Fwiw, it wasn't duplicative imo. Anyway, thank you Krista, I'm grateful for what you did putting this together and for getting me out of my comfort zone!
Well, you did me a favor by getting me to turn on the flash on my camera. But I see your point...there are lots of things going on and it's hard to choose.
@overalvandaan , @slash, @gratefulness Well, if anything, it gives you ideas of what techniques to learn about as a sideline. That's what it did for me, and I'm going to use the ideas as an outline throughout the year. If anything, it gave me the motivation to look up techniques and learn online. There's always a youtube video for whatever anyone wants to learn.
