Wow. I am honored to have been selected as the winner of the Mundane Mirror challenge. Thank you to @not_left_handed for hosting the last challenge and to everyone who chose my Magic Mirror photo as the winning entry. I must also give my darling granddaughter hugs for being such a cute subject for this challenge. She made my job simple. Now it's my turn to host the next challenge. After much pondering, I have chosen ROCK(s) as the subject for the next challenge. You can find all different kinds of rocks wherever you go, so hopefully a multitude of people can participate in this challenge. I look forward to seeing what everyone does with this mundane object.
You are free to use any photographic technique you like to capture this everyday object. The main rule; there can be no question the object of the challenge (i.e. rock) is the star! You may enter as many times as you like, but your entry must be taken within the challenge time frame to be considered as a finalist.
******* Please tag your entries: mundane-rock *********
The starting date will begin Immediately: Thursday, July 23, 2015 and will run until Friday, August 7, 2015. ( I apologize for the length of the challenge, but I will be on vacation and away from my computer for the next two weeks.)
Voting will take place from Saturday, August 8, 2015 until Tuesday August 11, 2015.
The winner will be announced Wednesday, August 12. I will be using Central Standard Time (Chicago time zone) basically but will try to be as generous as possible for those time zone related later entries.
I encourage everyone to take part in the challenge – it’s fun and a great way to stretch your photography skills. Remember for this challenge to tag mundane-rock so as not to be confused or overlooked.
@jbucovetsky Yes, you are, but this is a fantastic shot. Arches National Park? I was just there two weeks ago. It is one of my favorite places in the US. I love the strong processing of your photo.

I wonder what happened to the abstract version of this challenge? Should we start it up again do you think? I am happy to do so for this week.
What do you think?
