I was just wondering because I "bump into" the same names on here when I'm having a browse, but then when I look at the latest photos page or the curated page there are so many names I've never seen before and so many great photographers! I was just curious to how many were actually on here. I suppose some people choose to be really visible by doing the competitions and so on, when others are busy getting on with their project without being too social.
If you look at Browse "Day", then it says theres about 1000-1300 posts each day, so i'm assuming that means theres that many people posting each day.

but maybe there are people who browse but don't post?
The 1000-1300 posts each day are all the photos taken on that date. the 1000-1300 is slightly misleading as you can post up to 3 photos in 3 albums a day, so many people are posting more than one photo and of course you can back-fill - and then your photo appears on the day it was originally taken, not the day of posting. Other people will just browse or only post ocassionally. However if you go a long while without posting your account gets closed down - that happened to me a couple of years ago when I started but did not have time to continue. After a couple of months of non activity I received an email saying my account would be closed unless I posted.
Hey guys, as other have pointed out, there's not really a single number, there have obviously been a lot of users that have signed up and only used the site for a while before dropping out, then there are users that don't actively post a whole lot, then there are the regular people that post every day, as @dorsethelen says, people actively uploading is probably in the 1k-1500 range. Then there are about 12,000 that log in more than once a month, in total about 180k have signed up since we started. So take your pick.
