Last year, I took part in 30 Days Wild throughout June, an event organised by The Wildlife Trust (in the UK) and several people here joined in using the tag 30dayswild (see those photos here - http://365project.org/tags/30dayswild)
The idea is to spend some time outdoors each day - from a full days walking, climbing a mountain or a wildlife watching trip to the simplest of things like drinking your coffee in the garden in the morning, identifying a wildflower or feeding the birds.
You can find out a little more in the link below and sign up to receive your 30 Days Wild pack and join in - though you don't have to sign up to join in, you can just join in and tag your photos here!
Last year, I put together three blog posts each containing 30 'wild ideas' to offer a little inspiration for the challenge - I hope they will be of use to one or two of you who want to join in!
All you need to do to take part this June is tag your photos 30dayswild2016
I blogged 30 Days Wild last year here - http://louises30dayswild.blogspot.co.uk (actually, I carried it on and have almost completed a whole 366 Days Wild!) and will do so again this June.
Thanks for posting about this wonderful project! I live in the country, and spend a lot of time gardening and birding -- so pretty much my whole 365 Project is "wild"! However, reading your posts and seeing your pics has given me ideas to expand beyond the regular pics of just flowers and birds ...Thanks! I've signed up for the project and hopefully will remember to start using the 30dayswild2016 hashtag here on 365 in June.
@roachling
Hi and thanks Louise
I did some last year, so might join in for some of June. Its winter here and my phojo has all but disappeared but will see what I can do.
Thanks so much for posting the info about this fantastic project, Louise! It sounds like a project I will thoroughly enjoy! I signed up online for 30 Days Wild and will be tagging my photos here on 365! I'm looking forward to my month in the wild! :-)
This looks like a lot of fun! Definitely a nice little motivation to encourage what I already try to do. I signed up but I have my doubts that they'll send anything to the US, haha.
@claycameras hmmm, yes I think that may be unlikely, but you can download the wall chart and ideas cards as PDFs so you can still join in! (I can send them to you if you missed that option at sign up).
The best thing is taking part though, and you can definitely do that!
has a link to some 30 days wild bloggers (should you wish to browse or look for inspiration) and if you scroll down (and keep on scrolling!) you'll see 101 Random Acts of Wildness - plenty of ideas for your own 30 Days Wild.
@roachling I just wanted to be certain that I understand correctly how to participate: I downloaded the wall chart and pdf cards, but it seems that the cards are just suggestions/ideas and not a required theme of the day for everyone to follow ...Is that correct?
@dsp2 yes, the cards are suggestions. There aren't any themes of the day or anything - it's entirely up to you what you do each day - how long you spend outdoors and how simple or challenging your wild time is. There are no rules other than to spend a bit of time outdoors each day!
I think the random acts of wildness linked above will give you lots of ideas but you can also invent you own and do 30 Days Wild however suits you,
@roachling I enjoyed this last year and although I will be travelling from mid-June onwards I will try to remember to take, post and tag my wild times.
@kerosene You can just join in on the days you can :) You could adapt it to just taking a photo of something natural everyday - grass, bark, leaves, different flowers, clouds, birds, bugs etc etc etc! It doesn't have to be complicated and time consuming and there are no strict rules about the theme, just enjoy nature in some way each day! I'll look forward to seeing your photos.
