If you're in the DC area and want to see it, today, Tues Aug 2, is the official peak bloom. It will likely still be in bloom tomorrow as well, but today is peak. It opened early this morning as opposed to a late afternoon blooming as is its norm.
You succumbed! :) Wonderful cheesy selfie. ;) We have one, waiting to bloom, at the MO Botanical Garden. I am watching my e-mail with anticipation! So fun to see this.
@mittens@carolpre It was the news about the one in New York that caught dh's attention and linked to the one in DC. Indiana was mentioned by several bystanders last night. This must be the right time of year?
Will not have the chance to visit, but so very interesting. The plant does look interesting, visually. Maybe the next time in a year or so, in Washington...
Well yes, agree it did seem to be an official post from The Eden Project. (Frank, your link did not take me to what it ;purported to do - tried it more than once....)
