@humphreyhippo Thanks, the issue identified. While Flash is older technology and somewhat easily hacked, the latest updates do a better security job, and many browsers that still support it require the latest release to run. For instance, Firefox needed a Flash update on my PC. Windows browsers now incorporate the technology directly, and don't use the plugin at all.
Apple in particular have done all they can to discourage its use. HH's links explain it all and what you can do about it.
@danette Good. When things don't appear to work, especially browsers, clean out your buffers, and reboot the machine. That must have been what you did, the reboot anyway.
