Image Sizing question for Lightroom users.

June 29th, 2021
Hi everyone, when I check the exif of other 365'ers, there are so many different sizes and resolutions. As I have a decent camera now, it helps me to try different settings and hopefully learn something. At the moment I am using image size 1024 pixels and a resolution of 240 as that was advised in a LR book. It would interest me to know what others are using, or if that is ok. Thanks in advance.

Hi Diana
i pay less attention to these things than i really should! and my current setting is on 300 pixels/ inch. A great LR resource is the lightroom queen. really helpful resources and people https://www.lightroomqueen.com

Great question Diana; I know little enough about these things so I stick with the LR recommendations as you do! I'll be interested to read the other answers on here.

My settings in PS and On1-10 save anything edited at 300 px/inch. Sizes vary, especially if I crop it.

I just checked my export settings. It looks like I'm using the long edge setting at 2048 with a pixel resolution at 300. I use a quality setting of 84. I think I was uploading to 365 with a long edge setting at 1024, but I switched to the 2048 to upload to Flickr because you get better quality and resolution there, and my son likes to zoom right in and have a good look at things. I haven't posted to Flickr for awhile, but didn't change my setting in my Lightroom export.

2400 x 1000
300 pixel
Because that's what @bpfoto suggested and he knows a lot of technical stuff.

This is a personal preset I use for this site:
in Lightroom Classic, under image sizing, I check Resize to Fit: Long Edge
2048 pixels Resolution 240 pixels /inch.

300pixels and 2048 on the longest edge. I understand that 2048 is the best size for facebook compression, so I just use that for everything
