After taking my photo for today which I uploaded as SOOC I looked back to January when I started my project. Most of January has had no or very little editing and I think there has been a lot of improvement in my photos in the past nearly 5 months.
I know I still have a lot to learn but I am excited to see what my photos will be like at the end of this year.
Here is my first photo in my project and todays both of which are SOOC.
So, can you show me your SOOC photos showing how you have improved whilst doing your project?
I very very rarely do any editing in the computer. The majority of my project has been SOOC, and I won't put in any pictures that have been edited to excess.
@indiannie_jones Annie, I was takign some photos of blossom this morning and I had the last photo you've posted in mind as I was doing it. It's such a beautiful shot.
@pwallis Your pictures are lovely, I really like the one of the sunset
@cazink I love that picture, my son used to wear cloth nappies and as he was quite small from being premature his bum always looked really out of proportion. the way the bee is flying in the picture reminds me of the "big bum" phase. An odd connection I know, but it makes me smile!
Most of my shots are SOOC - all of them up until the 15th March, when I got Lightroom, but even after that I still leave quite a few of them as they were. These are a couple I am especially proud of.
That's quite a lot actually, and I didn't even look past the middle of March. :/

I try to get the photo just right out of the camera, and most of them have small tweeks, I tend to play with adding slight glow or vignette.
this was taken last weekend at the Coachella Music Festival. During Paul Van Dyk's set, looking into the Sahara tent. The girl had climbed up onto these wires and the shot just took itself. Pure magic.
Like @minxymissk and @cally, I have tried to keep my entire project SOOC. I have bad days, like this:
And other days that I like a bit more:
I'm loving being able to see growth and good and bad days as they truly are. :)
@tnaki I say it is still SOOC if it is cropped. I actually now crop most of my photos in a square format since that is how they appear on the home page.
A huge amount of my photos are sooc... Simply because I find no fun in editing and only do so when its a rain day and I am limited with options. One of my recent sooc is:-
mine are alll strait out of camera unless i crop the odd one i dont use photo shop but thinking about it cos everyone else does iv done odd arty thing but not much
@jesase - Thank you! It's from my grandmother's house, where she had it in her bedroom. I remember her saying it had an "hourglass figure" because it is narrow where the seat joins the back. My cat doesn't sit on it very often.
I'm pretty sure this one was SOOC -- maybe cropped it a tiny bit. It's not that great, but it was early on in my project when I didn't know anything. =)
I think all but 2 or 3 of mine are SOOC. I always seem to make it worse with editing, plus it forces me to think more about the composure before I shoot.
I remember so well because all I did was crop it very little. I didn't touch anything else, I even noted that in the description. It was the easiest shot I had!
Just like Emma, lots of my January pictures were SOOC, some of the motifs were good but I think I improved a lot over the last four months as well. And just tweaking saturation or contrasts can make SOOC shots so much better so I nearly always play around a bit.
most of my pics are sooc too. i'm not going to post any in this thread... i just wanted to say that these pictures are so beautiful sooc, that it makes me a little sad that i think people get into the mentality that a picture isn't good or finished, even, unless it's edited.
from the beginning of my project when I had no idea there were free editing programs (or anything other than photoshop) available. Not too bad, but it was camera on all auto
and a more recent SOOC that I love
Editing helps some of my photos, but as I quickly learned (before I knew how to edit) it's having a compositional eye that makes the biggest difference. I'm working hard on that eye and getting better, I think.
And then these:
But I also really love my very first picture!
This photo was very early on in my project.
And this one is just recently.
Day 95 using my kit lens
Day 240, using my 50mm f1.4 lens. I can see an improvement. :-)
@pwallis Your pictures are lovely, I really like the one of the sunset

@cally The gorilla in your first picture is really cute but I love the detail on the robin in your second
@bugik I like all the pictures you posted but the lighting and flares in the most recent are fantastic!
Some faves....
Most of my pics are SOOC but I am doing more and more editing.
That's quite a lot actually, and I didn't even look past the middle of March. :/
I am a BIG fan of SOOC shot since I rarely like my photos well enough to not edit them.
I do very little SOOC, I love working in Photoshop...but this one needed nothing but my initials :)

Is it still SOOC if you crop?
Today was SOOC
This is today's shot. Most of mine or SOOC or minimal editing (exposure tweaks/cropping).
OK... last one - I promise!
Those are just a few, won't share all of them :p
Sepia was added only:
Only slight DOF blur added:
I went to play with it in picnik, and decided it looked way better SOOC.
Official day one ~
Day 43
Day 120
And a couple days ago ~ Day145
I think I'm getting much better with time. ~
Day 95 - ( apart from watermark)
i probably just cropped it...but not even sure about that...
But I really like this one, it was even taken with my cell phone.
2nd day;
3 of my more recent favourites;
Feb 22nd;
March 30th;
April 20th;
I think (hope) I'm improving
Ok, that's plenty, haha.
I just started. I am gonna try to do my whole project SOOC. Does cropping disqualify my photo from being SOOC?
Here is one I took yesterday and left as sooc, I thought it was too pretty to try and adjust it any way.
And this is one of the new ones. I think it is Sooc...
To this:
Here's one from yesterday:
So that's one of my very early ones:
And that's one from this week:
The lighting on my windowsill today was just lovely.
The lighting in this wood was just perfect!!
- just has a frame
A recent one that I didn't edit either:
