Show me your SOOC

April 20th, 2011
After taking my photo for today which I uploaded as SOOC I looked back to January when I started my project. Most of January has had no or very little editing and I think there has been a lot of improvement in my photos in the past nearly 5 months.

I know I still have a lot to learn but I am excited to see what my photos will be like at the end of this year.

Here is my first photo in my project and todays both of which are SOOC.

So, can you show me your SOOC photos showing how you have improved whilst doing your project?
April 20th, 2011
Mine are SOOC up until about Day 11 but when I Edit I only use Picnik as Im not that good :(
April 20th, 2011
I *thiiiink* this was

And then these:

most of my shots have some editing even if it is just a crop but this one was sooc
April 20th, 2011
Hmm, I've got a lot of sooc's :)
April 20th, 2011
April 20th, 2011
I'm really proud of this one from the 12th:

But I also really love my very first picture!
April 20th, 2011
I very very rarely do any editing in the computer. The majority of my project has been SOOC, and I won't put in any pictures that have been edited to excess.

This photo was very early on in my project.

And this one is just recently.

April 20th, 2011
Day 22, using my 6 year-old P&S

Day 95 using my kit lens

Day 240, using my 50mm f1.4 lens. I can see an improvement. :-)
April 20th, 2011
@indiannie_jones Annie, I was takign some photos of blossom this morning and I had the last photo you've posted in mind as I was doing it. It's such a beautiful shot.

@pwallis Your pictures are lovely, I really like the one of the sunset

@cazink I love that picture, my son used to wear cloth nappies and as he was quite small from being premature his bum always looked really out of proportion. the way the bee is flying in the picture reminds me of the "big bum" phase. An odd connection I know, but it makes me smile!
April 20th, 2011
@emmar84 thats quite a good connection i think - my mum has pics of me in huge cloth nappies as i was premmie too :D
April 20th, 2011
@proudrhrshipper The colours in your first picture are wonderful, I can see why you're proud of it!

@cally The gorilla in your first picture is really cute but I love the detail on the robin in your second

@bugik I like all the pictures you posted but the lighting and flares in the most recent are fantastic!
April 20th, 2011
Every single shot in my 365 album is SOOC it was a challenge I set myself before I started the project :o)
Some faves....

April 20th, 2011
April 20th, 2011
this is sooc and it blew me away because it looks like something I would have edited...I didn't dare mess with this

April 20th, 2011

Most of my pics are SOOC but I am doing more and more editing.
April 20th, 2011
Just as I don't believe in leaving the house without mascara and lipstick, I don't believe in SOOC : )
April 20th, 2011
I agree with @jesase. lol
April 20th, 2011
I have only a few that are SOOC because I really like adding vignettes to my pictures.

April 20th, 2011
@positronicmommy Glad Im not the only Vignetter... Ive always liked Vignettes x
April 20th, 2011
One of my favorite SOOCs because my son and my dog both sat still for me at the same time!

April 20th, 2011
@lisahutchinson Npe you aren't alone! I love how a vignette can soften a picture or make it feel more dramatic!
April 20th, 2011
Most of my shots are SOOC - all of them up until the 15th March, when I got Lightroom, but even after that I still leave quite a few of them as they were. These are a couple I am especially proud of.

That's quite a lot actually, and I didn't even look past the middle of March. :/
April 20th, 2011

I am a BIG fan of SOOC shot since I rarely like my photos well enough to not edit them.
April 20th, 2011

I do very little SOOC, I love working in Photoshop...but this one needed nothing but my initials :)
April 20th, 2011
I find myself editing all the time now. This one is SOOC though.

April 20th, 2011
This is exactly how it came out of the camera!
April 20th, 2011
day one:

#93:

#103:

I try to get the photo just right out of the camera, and most of them have small tweeks, I tend to play with adding slight glow or vignette.
April 20th, 2011
this was taken last weekend at the Coachella Music Festival. During Paul Van Dyk's set, looking into the Sahara tent. The girl had climbed up onto these wires and the shot just took itself. Pure magic.

April 20th, 2011
I have quite a few, but this one is still my favorite!

April 20th, 2011
Like @minxymissk and @cally, I have tried to keep my entire project SOOC. I have bad days, like this:

And other days that I like a bit more:

I'm loving being able to see growth and good and bad days as they truly are. :)
April 20th, 2011
A couple of them that I have in my album:

April 20th, 2011

Is it still SOOC if you crop?
April 20th, 2011

April 20th, 2011

April 20th, 2011
most of my shots are sooc so I only recently got paintshop pro so i like this one
April 20th, 2011
@emmar84-- first picture with my new camera!

April 20th, 2011
@kchuk - AMAZING chair!
April 20th, 2011
@tnaki I say it is still SOOC if it is cropped. I actually now crop most of my photos in a square format since that is how they appear on the home page.

April 20th, 2011
The water was actually dyed this shade of pink for the Cherry Blossom Festival

April 20th, 2011
I have quite a few but only picked a few...

April 20th, 2011
A huge amount of my photos are sooc... Simply because I find no fun in editing and only do so when its a rain day and I am limited with options. One of my recent sooc is:-
April 20th, 2011
April 21st, 2011

April 21st, 2011

Today was SOOC
April 21st, 2011
@jesase - Thank you! It's from my grandmother's house, where she had it in her bedroom. I remember her saying it had an "hourglass figure" because it is narrow where the seat joins the back. My cat doesn't sit on it very often.
April 21st, 2011

April 21st, 2011

This is today's shot. Most of mine or SOOC or minimal editing (exposure tweaks/cropping).
April 21st, 2011
Very nearly all of my project is SOOC. I do a bit of cropping one or two minor tweeks (b&w, etc). Here are a few of my favs:

OK... last one - I promise!

I love editing. Not sure which of my earlier ones were SOOC, but this one I actually tagged as such b/c I thought people would assume it wasn't!

Sepia was added only:

Only slight DOF blur added:

Here's mine!
April 21st, 2011
I'm pretty sure this one was SOOC -- maybe cropped it a tiny bit. It's not that great, but it was early on in my project when I didn't know anything. =)

April 21st, 2011

I went to play with it in picnik, and decided it looked way better SOOC.
April 21st, 2011
All of mine are SOOC ~ I only add my name, or possibly crop it, but I haven't done that much. ~ But improve definitely
Official day one ~

Day 43

Day 120

And a couple days ago ~ Day145

I think I'm getting much better with time. ~

Few of them… I do as many sooc as I can

April 22nd, 2011
I was pleased with this SOOC; I got the effect I wanted just with my lense and my eye. (I've enjoyed this thread..... so many talented people here!)

April 22nd, 2011

i probably just cropped it...but not even sure about that...

Here are mine

April 22nd, 2011
I think all but 2 or 3 of mine are SOOC. I always seem to make it worse with editing, plus it forces me to think more about the composure before I shoot.

2nd day;

3 of my more recent favourites;

Feb 22nd;

March 30th;

April 20th;

I think (hope) I'm improving
April 22nd, 2011
todays...
April 22nd, 2011
My entire project is sooc...part of my challenge to myself. Here are a few, but if anybody wants to look, the rest are as well.

Ok, that's plenty, haha.
April 22nd, 2011
I remember so well because all I did was crop it very little. I didn't touch anything else, I even noted that in the description. It was the easiest shot I had!

April 22nd, 2011

I just started. I am gonna try to do my whole project SOOC. Does cropping disqualify my photo from being SOOC?
April 22nd, 2011
Wow there are some amazing photos on here, so many talented people!

Here is one I took yesterday and left as sooc, I thought it was too pretty to try and adjust it any way.

April 22nd, 2011
From earlier this month. Just loaded into PS to add my sig, otherwise sooc.

April 23rd, 2011
A couple of my favourites:

April 23rd, 2011
my very first.
April 23rd, 2011
I have a lot lately... ummm here is a few

April 23rd, 2011
At least half of my photos are SOOC. It's kind of my goal.
Here's one from yesterday:
April 23rd, 2011
pretty much all mine are SOOC. here are some of my favs....

April 23rd, 2011
My whole project is SOOC. But here is my fav that is most recent:

April 23rd, 2011
All of these were taken a year or more ago. Obviously SOOC because I had no idea how to do anything. I've only added the watermark:

April 23rd, 2011
Just like Emma, lots of my January pictures were SOOC, some of the motifs were good but I think I improved a lot over the last four months as well. And just tweaking saturation or contrasts can make SOOC shots so much better so I nearly always play around a bit.

So that's one of my very early ones:

And that's one from this week:
April 23rd, 2011
I just did one today:

April 23rd, 2011
I posted this photo on April 17, 2011. The bokeh was truly a gift from my camera....

The lighting on my windowsill today was just lovely.

April 23rd, 2011
One of my first photos on the project SOOC:

A recent one that I didn't edit either:

April 23rd, 2011
most of my pics are sooc too. i'm not going to post any in this thread... i just wanted to say that these pictures are so beautiful sooc, that it makes me a little sad that i think people get into the mentality that a picture isn't good or finished, even, unless it's edited.
April 23rd, 2011
from the beginning of my project when I had no idea there were free editing programs (or anything other than photoshop) available. Not too bad, but it was camera on all auto

and a more recent SOOC that I love

Editing helps some of my photos, but as I quickly learned (before I knew how to edit) it's having a compositional eye that makes the biggest difference. I'm working hard on that eye and getting better, I think.
