Photo coincidences

October 24th, 2011
Hello, photo friends! :)

Taking my daily shots today I have discovered a new aspect of photography. It sometimes allows us to see something that we don't even notice at first.

Only later on, when uploading photos on PC I noticed the two cats in my photo. :)

So I wanted to share this experience and see if anyone of you has had the same "coincidences" or some other ways of how photos allow us to see more than at first. :)

Or maybe it means I am not attentive enough, while taking photos? :) it made me think...
October 24th, 2011
Yep! There was a cyclist in my cider!!
October 24th, 2011
@wrighty LOL! How did he taste????
October 24th, 2011
@wrighty Oh, that looks cool! :)
October 24th, 2011

@janmaki pointed out that there is a third elephant if you take the tail as the tusk and the right leg as the trunk of an elephant in side profile...
October 24th, 2011
@glyn noticed that there's a crocodile eating the sun in my shot from Saturday. I hadn't realised until she pointed it out!

October 24th, 2011
I didn't see the other plane in this photo until I looked at it on my pc. it was too small to see on my camera screen!

October 24th, 2011
@smevvy Indeed, a crocodile :) and what great colors. I love sunsets! :)
October 24th, 2011
@jannaellen oh, wow! it took me a bit, but once I saw it.... that's really cool!
October 24th, 2011
i LOVE this topic!!
October 24th, 2011
I found an elephant and a rhino when I uploaded this one.

October 24th, 2011

October 24th, 2011
@jannaellen Great to spot such details :)
October 24th, 2011
@dejongdd @kimfaria
:) Now I know, there's something magical about taking photos. :) What a great way to get inspired. :)
October 24th, 2011
yeah happens all the time

it was only some time later that I noticed the heads of the people at the bottom of the waterfall

in this one it was the fly in between the irises

and here the knot at the bottom shaped like a heart
October 24th, 2011
@kimfaria You also have a ghost at the right...I see the head, the body, the legs...do you see it, in front of the little window?
October 24th, 2011
I saw the ghost right away too! @5unflow3r @kimfaria
October 24th, 2011
Snapped this scene with my iphone using hipstamtic app ...did not see the swift until i uploaded the image from my phone ...

October 24th, 2011
@asrai Very nice coincidences in your photos :)
@steveh Looks cool :)
October 24th, 2011
Bit of a different kind of coincidence, but @msartsy and I (who don't know each other and live 4 hours apart) discovered that we were in the exact same location at the EXACT same time (check the time stamp on our shots) taking shots of the same building. But we didn't see or notice each other. Here's mine:
October 24th, 2011
And here's hers:
October 24th, 2011
@shutterbugger Oh good...sometimes I worry about my over active imagination...LOL
:-)
October 24th, 2011
@pwallis Oh, nice coincidence :)
October 24th, 2011
@steveh Now Steve, I remember telling you at the time.....a swallow not a swift! LOL Still a brilliant shot!
October 24th, 2011

October 24th, 2011
@kimfaria thats cool
October 24th, 2011
@autumnseden LOL brilliant
October 24th, 2011
I noticed the bee, didn't notice the other little bug until after I got it on my computer.

October 24th, 2011
I have a couple :)

I didn't notice the smiley face on this one until I'd uploaded it

On this one the heart just wasn't visible on the view finder - it's fab!
October 24th, 2011
@autumnseden that one still makes me laugh:)
October 24th, 2011
Saw the Grossbeak chattering away and after uploading I saw the woodpecker "running" away from him. No wonder he was squacking.
October 24th, 2011
@5unflow3r ha ha! never noticed that before!
October 24th, 2011
ahem...

October 24th, 2011

@autumnseden ..ha! fab
@sdpace ..ha! cheeky..
October 24th, 2011
I didn't notice the bee until I got the shot up on the computer screen
October 24th, 2011
just posted this one today from yesterday and saw the dew on the cotton boll after I uploaded.
October 24th, 2011
It wasn't til I took the photo, did some photoshop and post it on here that I decided to see what time was on the White Rabbit's watch. The watch just happened to be on 5pm as it is in in all the photos I searched.

October 24th, 2011
I didn't see the face till after I uploaded it on here!

October 24th, 2011
@pwallis That is incredibly amazing! And not that I didn't believe you, but I had to check to see the timestamps myself!
October 24th, 2011
@mebswartz I know! So crazy!!
October 24th, 2011
I didn't see these birds in my photo till I downloaded it.
October 24th, 2011
When I took this picture I didn't see this perfectly posed bird until I uploaded. Whatta bonus, because to me, he makes the shot!

October 24th, 2011
I don't know if this counts since I saw the 'coincidence' before I took it, but it seemed like such a perfect moment -

October 24th, 2011
@autumnseden That is a funny coincidence :) I like it :)
@webfoot Yeah, it takes a while to notice it :)
@minxymissk You have pretty nice coincidences there :)
@jannkc Very interesting moment :)
@sdpace ha-ha :D
@lilbudhha The fellow really is barely noticable :)
@kmrtn6 Oh, very mysterious!
@dulciknit Great moment to capture :)
@annaruth Cool :) and cool photo as well :)
@sanera Secret smiley, love it :)
@buttercup Looks like the one is chasing the other :)
@kalexa I agree, the bird looks so good, and the whole photo is very beautiful :)
@izzymathie Really perfect moment :)

Thank you photo friends for sharing your "coincidences" with me :) I had so much fun :)
October 24th, 2011
Fun post. Hmmm I might have to go back and look at mine a little more indepth to see what I missed :)
October 24th, 2011
Loved all of the stories. I, like Tineke will have to go back and see what I have missed. Wonderful stories.
October 24th, 2011
Hihi, there are some really cool coincidences in your shots!
I found another one of mine: I didn't know I was capturing a man standing on my chin when I took this:

PS: And in case you wondered, I know how to rotate pictures - I wanted this to be that way ;).
October 24th, 2011
@pwallis Wow, what an awesome coincidence, Paula!
October 24th, 2011
Here is mine. I didn't see the people beside the windows until I uploaded it. Try to view in large.

October 25th, 2011
Definitely didn't see the squirrel til I uploaded it to the computer. I guess that is the whole point of their coat color, though.

October 25th, 2011
My comment when I posted this: "What I love about this photo is how the water spout from the pond at the preserve is perfectly framed in the stone structure. The framing was purely happenstance... I was oblivious to the spout at this point and lucky to have it a part of the scene."
October 25th, 2011

I did not see the black butterfly in the middle of the photo until I pulled it up bigger later.
October 25th, 2011
Very neat thread! I had stopped to take a photo of one moose, but when I uploaded it, I realized there had been two!
October 25th, 2011
@pwallis wow! that is really cool!!!!!
October 25th, 2011
Here's another one. Actually, there's several things I missed when I took the shot, the most obvious being the large sea gull taking wing, which I think really makes the photo, but the light flare that makes it look like we have a second sun, much like the planet Tatooine was something else I didn't notice until I got it on the computer.

October 25th, 2011
@bugik @kimfaria I know - the week before that I posted a shot that I didn't know she already had in her project of a little stagnant pond off the side of the road - 4 hours away from where I live. So weird!
October 25th, 2011
@pwallis you guys should meet!
October 25th, 2011
@kimfaria I know! I plan on arranging it next time I make the trip her way:)
October 25th, 2011
I didn't notice the ball of drool until I uploaded the photo to my computer...
October 25th, 2011
CK
I didn't see the birds in this one, they're not as crisp as I would like, but glad they flew by at any rate.

October 25th, 2011
Very cool thread. I'm now going to check out all my pictures and see if I have missed anything good!
October 25th, 2011
I wasn't aware of the bird until I saw the picture on the computer.
October 25th, 2011
I spotted this deer, but only saw on the picture it was sticking out it's tongue at me!

October 25th, 2011
I didn't know that I had caught my reflection in the bubble, both upright and flipped upside down. My husband pointed it out and was like that is so cool that you did that, and I was like.......um.....yeah.....I meant to do that ;)

October 25th, 2011
I was focusing on the cloud an hoped to get a little glare from the sun. When I posted it I saw the blue beam from the sun to the ground!
October 26th, 2011
I didn't notice the line of giraffe-shaped cranes along the opposite shore until I viewed this on screen.
October 26th, 2011
@sdpace "ahem," for sure... chuckle, chuckle...
October 26th, 2011
Playing with aperture settings tonight and didn't notice the spider until I uploaded to my computer. Yikes! What a surprise!

October 26th, 2011
@5unflow3r @kimfaria I was going to point out the ghost as well! Crazy stuff!
October 26th, 2011
@pwallis Wow, crazy!
October 26th, 2011
I didn't realize that the sparkler had created an oval-like frame around my daughter when I took this shot. It was a wonderful surprise!
October 26th, 2011
@tnaki :) Thanks Tineke. :) And if you find some, please share :)
@jannaellen :) Funny coincidence :)
@rfantone Where are they??? :D This is like a task!

@mebswartz Perfectly framed indeed :)

October 26th, 2011
I struugled to catch the sparkling raindrops and didn't see the refractions.reflections till I looked on screen
October 26th, 2011
I was photographing the grandkids blowing bubbles and until I downloaded, I had no idea that I had a reflection of myself, granddaughter, and gazebo in the bubble.

October 26th, 2011
. @marytj this is so pretty and quirky.
October 26th, 2011

I swear no-one was around the lagoon when I took this picture! I even called a friend who was with me, asking her if she had seen anyone. She was also positive there were just us two.... Strange!!!
October 26th, 2011

using my macro lens to take a picture of this butterfly and I didn't see this little fellow on the bottom
October 27th, 2011
@lasminja - that's very funny. I was so nervous taking this first candid which I was hoping I'd feel good enough about to post, that I didn't notice until I had it on my screen that the little dog and water dish were there. It's so funny because I'm such a nut about dog, cats, etc. I even walked past them after without seeing the dog. Now, the dog just makes the pic for me.

October 27th, 2011
I didn't notice the sun rays until after I took it! :)
October 27th, 2011
I hadn't noticed the palm reflection in the pane

And I seriously hadn't noticed the seagull in this one - I was concentrating on lining up her arms with the buildings in the background ;)

October 27th, 2011

I didn't notice until I processed this...there is a spare tyre next to the plane and the the scissor lift has a flat!
