I'm starting this challenge a bit late, so please accept my apologies for not posting it before February 1. But February is the perfect month to take part in an alphabet hunt. Here's how the "found" alphabet challenge works: Look for your ABC's in the world around you (see example below). You must post them in order, but since there are 3 more days in Feb. than our English alphabet, you can have some fun with these bonus days of your choosing. Here are some options or make up your own.
- if you're bilingual in a language that doesn't use the English alphabet, choose a letter from that alphabet and photograph it.
- make up your own letter.
- photograph an alphabet phrase like: Busy as a B(ee), Mind your P's and Q's, X marks the spot, and so on.
- alphabet soup, alphabet pasta, or any other object/item that pertains to the word alphabet.
Most of all- have fun!! Tag your photos Febalphabet.
Here's a sample of "found" alphabet letters which I used for the January Treasure Hunt. I'll be posting my "A" tomorrow and look forward to see who'll join in.
Hi Ann, I'm ready to start this tomorrow :) (Had to finish the treasure hunt first, so I'm a bit late too!) Sounds like fun, but so far I've only managed to find an 'o'... I wonder if I can get the parrots to make funny shapes - a birdy version of YMCA, perhaps? :)
@janmaki Thanks for sharing your colorful alphabet Jani! I LOVE the colors! @curiousmomworm Looking forward to seeing what you come up with Sarah! @doglady Thanks Melody- I had hoped to post it before I went away but didn't accomplish my goal! But you're right- you can do this at any time. Have fun with the color challenge! @bluebell Love your black and white alphabet Bluebell! Oh absolutely altar the challenge any way you want. You could add a little explanation as to what you did when you post the picture, but if you want us to see them, you'll need to use the same Febalphabet tag. @alia_801 Looking forward to our next challenge together Challenge buddy!
@shanne Great variation Shane! I particularly like the first A. (o: @archaeofrog Very clever- love all the different signs you used to complete the alphabet. And I agree- parrots doing the YMCA would be awesome! @alia_801
My son is doing this challenge now, he is only seven so I have to help him a little with inspiration but I'm sure buy the time we get near 26 he will be raring to finish it off!!
Well I just now saw this but I've seen some alphabet photos floating around, very cool! I might have to do see what I can find now, tho clearly not for February anymore!
@tamsg4 You can do the alphabet any time- @alia_801 and I chose the month of Feb. because we were looking for something to do. Have fun!! @justeddie Glad you enjoyed it Eddie!
These are brilliant - it was seeing something like this that inspired my alphabet hunt last month... the oddest thing was knowing upfront what I had to do each day, but then find it! (The second oddest thing was April 1st when I realised I could shoot anything I wanted but didn't know where to start!!) I made it into a keyboard at the end of the month but must do an abc pic too when I get a minute.
I just realized I never posted my complete alphabet here! Love your keyboard idea. I think it's a fun and different way to show your completed alphabet.
I'm late in getting this started Alia- but here we go!
@curiousmomworm Looking forward to seeing what you come up with Sarah!
