Well, here we are, February 29, the final day of the Found Alphabet Challenge, so it seemed fitting to post a shot of all the letters and numbers today (minus zero because it's nothing!). And I felt that I would be remiss if I did not tip my hat to a fellow who's probably taught the alphabet to more children than any other person, or bird, I know- Big Bird of Sesame Street. Here's his rendition of the alphabet:
ABC-DEF-GHI-JKL-MNOP-QRSTUV-WXYZ
It's the most remarkable word I've ever seen,
ABC-DEF-GHI-JKL-MNOP-QRSTUV-WXYZ
I wish I knew exactly what I mean.
It starts out like an "A" word as anyone can see,
But somewhere in the middle it gets awful "QR" to me!
ABC-DEF-GHI-JKL-MNOP-QRSTUV-WXYZ
If I ever find out just what this word can mean,
I'll be the smartest bird the world has ever seen!
Ann, this turned out great and will make a lovely wall hanging for you and/or your grandchildren! Just beautiful!! Big Bird was the best teacher my kids ever had!
@louisefrance Thanks Louise- yes I want to make it into a poster for my granddaughter (probably with just the letters). @sgoodin1 Thank you Sara! @alia_801 Thanks Alia! @simster Thanks Simmy! @tklein Thanks Tina! Looking at the "March Photo A Day" challenge posted by Amy Hughes. Interesting list- but a couple I'm picking my own words for since they're repeats of other challenges I did recently. @karenann Thanks Karenann- I will have to print them all out so I can remember all that good stuff! @kimmistephens Thank you Kimmi! @digitalrn Thanks Rick! @sarasdadandmom Thanks Terry!
as you now know, i did a far more difficult chore of photographing in macro those little flags in an encyclopedia for my finale. this is a wonderful collage.
@olivetreeann - hahaha! i challenge everyone to not take a photo of any kind for 30 days.
nah, i can't be challenge master. all i meant to say was that instead of making a collage of my alphabet photos, i was foolish to have photographed those little flags. i got so stressed that's probably why i had vertigo. as my partner always tells me, why do i always have to be different or why do i always have to do things the hard way? i apologize if that came across as something else, ann, as i didn't mean it that way. you may slap me now with a wet noodle.
@summerfield Oh I understood you were joking and poking fun at yourself for photographing the flags- I was joking with you as well- I hope it didn't sound like I was offended- I was kidding about the Challenge Master (the title of which I made up, there really is no such thing!). But that being said, you must always do things differently because you are a very creative person- and average or easy is just not part of your vocab! And because of that, I actually think you'd come up with a very creative challenge for us to do, should you ever decide to do a challenge for us. So there will be no slapping with wet noodles tonight- just a good laugh between friends.
@olivetreeann - thank heavens! i was hoping you didn't get offended and i'm quite relieved. but upon reading my comment again, i thought it might have sounded haughty and/or whiney and i felt horrible. thank you, ann.
Looks great Ann. Nice take on the numbers. I thought about carrying on with numbers but actually decided that 'found' number shapes would be much more difficult.
@joannapayne They were hard to find in the same fashion of the alphabet which is why I ended up going for the count rather than the shape. Thanks Joanna!
