I enjoy participating in the challenges that are posted each month and thought it was time I came up with an idea for October.
Thanks to the wonderful ideas from @stuckinoz and @alia_801 and @olivetreeann and @psychographer who collectively have created some great challenges include the Same September challenge and self imposed rainbow challenges, I have decided to dedicate October to the colours of the rainbow. Hopefully you will like this challenge and decide to join in.
The challenge is to take the same colour inspired photo on the same day of the week:
Monday - Red
Tuesday - Orange
Wednesday - Yellow
Thursday - Green
Friday - Blue
Saturday - Pink
Sunday - Purple
At the end of the challenge the thumbnail columns will align. With the exception of taking the same colour photo on the days indicated above there are no set rules to this challenge. Have fun and be as creative as you like.
If you would like to participate tag your photos 'october-rainbow' so that everyone can see how creative you are all being.
Fantastic idea! I've really enjoyed the challenges I've participated in this month and may give the rainbow a go! I wish I had time to do all the challenges that come along!
Yes, yes count me in! Ever since I've seen Janelle's @stuckinoz amazing rainbow week I decided I wanted to do the same for whole month, just to get the pretty thumbnails. I was thinking of suggesting it also. I have some fantastic yellow up the road, hoping all the flowers haven't dropped by the time next wednesday comes!
I did something like this in August and it was really fun, but I need something different this month. I just wanted to say, it was one of the coolest projects I've done here so I hope you have as much fun.
Oh cool idea. The column alignment would look fantastic, I can never keep up with these themes though. I don't have the commitment! I will definitely try and give it a go though.
Wow, Ive just completed a roygbiv month - see below. I wonder if I should give it another go? I thoroughly enjoyed doing it and it was made easy by only having to look for colours.
this sounds like cool thing to do. Seeing the example aurorajane put in made it really click as an idea. I may not succeed but I am going to give this a try.

I've been thinking I might even set myself an extra challenge on the challenge and try and take pics in a given category for each week: Week 1 - Natural World (eg plants, fruit, veg, sky, landscape); Week 2 - Manmade World (eg architecture, street furniture, plastic stuff, technology); Week 3 - Transport (eg cars, buses, trains, bikes); Week 4 - People (and their stuff - clothes, bags, accessories etc); Week 5 (the short week) - Anything goes .... I'm probably being over-ambitious .....
I am going to TRY and take part in this challenge in October. I've been slightly off focus the past couple of months, but I'm gonna try to do this one.....after all, who doesn't LOVE rainbows!
Ready to do both if i can keep up!! @nicolecampbell thanks for the reminder ! I am probably going to do this challenge in my second album..havent decided yet ...i am also going to try the Opposite- october one also! We will see if somehow i can combine the colors with the pic's! Wish me luck
@ellimae I'm trying for the combo too! Will be fun to try to get the colours together - I just hope there isn't an orange in one challenge and a blue in the other on the same day!
@nicolecampbell i am going to do this challenge.....and i'm into my 2nd year, but......i cannot figure out how to FIND other photos that have been tagged "october-rainbow". When i search in the search box, it brings up a web search with those words.........HELP! i want to see what others are doing with regards to this challenge
@sticksandstones - when you do the web search on the left hand side there is a list of headings and one of them is photos. If you click on photos it will bring them all up. Let me know if I need to explain that better for you.
@nicolecampbell I am also having trouble finding the other October-rainbow photos. I don't see a heading "photos". When I search by tag, all I see is a all the tag words.
@becky_b - Hi Becky, type the words october-rainbow in the search box at the top of this page on the right hand side. When the search appears look on the left hand side of the page and at the top of the column is three or sub headings and the top one is photos. Good luck finding it.
@nicolecampbell hi! i was wondering if you could help me with a problem - really stupid question but i tried a double post yesterday with a photo and it is showing up in the other album but not in this one. how do i get it to show up in this one, too? i don't want there to be a gap in my calendar view. i did tag it for this challenge.
@catsmeowb - hello, I am not quite sure I can help. I think you need to open your photo, click the edit button and choose a different album for the photo. If you took both photos on the same day then you will need to change the date for one of the entries. Hopefully this will help you.
