... or Jul-iPad... or Jul-cameraphoneofyourchoice!
All month I'll be filling an alternate album with nothing but shots from my iPhone or iPad, because I like to switch things up and put away my fancy-smancy cameras on occasion! Also, I like to remind myself that my camera phone really does have a place in my "camera collection!"
If you wish to participate, I will choose some finalists in August and we'll have a vote! Tag your photos with "Juliphone" and include the following info:
- Camera used and any special attachments (like lenses)
- App used, if any
- Program used to process the image (MUST be native to the phone/tablet/pod, NOT imported into photoshop or something equally heinous!)
** You do NOT have to take a shot every day all month; just whenever you want!
Aaaaand... that's it! Here's one to start us off:
Device: iPhone 4 w/macro lens from Photojojo
App: Camera Awesome
Processing: Camera Awesome
hmmmm... tempting... i have decided to learn how to use the iphone camera... so that i can take a decent shot with it in a pinch... but i was thinking of mostly posting to instagram... i'll have to give it some thought... this is a really impressive close up, btw... see, that's an area i need to work on... i can't get the focus close up at all!
@houser934 Absolutely not Kathryn, no more than someone having a glass ball to shoot through, or christmas lights to make bokeh, or living on the beach, or... everything! :) Honestly, a great shot has so much more to do with the photographer than the equipment they are using. Keep an eye on the tag; you'll see what I'm talking about.
I am going to consider this....is the aim to do a shot with the iphone/pad/camera every single day? That sort of challenge? Or just tag the ones we get that fit the bill? Great macro, btw! @tara11 just gave me the lens kit for Iphone! Cannot wait to get in there and see what it will do.
@bristolrose Great Kathryn! There are tons of free editing apps out there, I'd prefer people not use picmonkey for this challenge (unless picmonkey has an app...)! Heck, you might not even need an editor; it might be great straight out of your camera!
@grizzlysghost I love this idea. There are some very creative people out there using the incredibly powerful tool that's right in their pockets or purses. Thanks for the challenge, Aaron!
Sounds like a great idea, Aaron. I really need to start using my Smartphone camera. My photos on the phone go into my Dropbox and then I use an editing app/apps on my iPad. Would that be acceptable to everyone? I do have apps on the phone but I like the bigger screen on the iPad sometimes.
Sounds great! My phone camera is mainly used when I'm too lazy to lug the dslr around...I've experimented with apps but have never really taken a shot with the idea of my phone camera being the star! I'm in!
Because I am lazy (and busy) I use my iPhone almost all the times these days (and its the one thing I have with me all the time). I send my photos via email (largest file possible) which I then open on the iPad and edit. Its so easy to do.
All right, I'm in. I'm using the phone less and less now that I have a DLSR, but I'm sure I could learn to use it better. So, I downloaded "Snapseed" (I'm on a 'droid) and will see what I can do with phone only for a while for my special project. Thanks for thinking up the challenge.
This challenge will be fun for me as I have been using my iPhone and new Olloclip lens a lot lately, and I do all of my processing using my iPad. Thanks, Aaron . . . Great idea :D
And a puddle shot with lots of domes and drips....I had to ETSOOI this one, as the background stuff was ugly. ETSOOI-ed by using Snapseed and Photowizard on my IPAD
@grizzlysghost Hi Aaron, does it have to be an iPhone pic only or is Blackberry acceptable ? (With iPad photoshop app to process) or is that all a bit out of bounds for this one !?
When I started this hours long still life project, I had no intention of it being a "Juliphone" entry. I used my DSLR and two lens (50mm and 18-55mm) , external flash, and tripod to shoot pics of the set up. Snapped a few with the iphone at the end. Was so pooped when I got home from lake, I did not want to get out laptop, memory card, etc.. so I just played with the pic on my ipad and decided to go with it.
@grizzlysghost
Aaron, thank you for suggesting this theme for July. I joined in for the last 12 days but I enjoyed it soooo much. I found great inspiration and learnt a lot how to control processing on a small screen with new apps (Snapseed, Lo-Mob, mainly) . Thanks!
Now I don't know what to do next: camera or iPhone photos??? iPhone photos tempt me a lot.....
App: Olloclip
Processing: Snapseed
just the iphone no processing or attachments
App: Olloclip
Processing: Snapseed
Taken with my new iPad leaving the mail. Used a app called photo editor. It is a free app and simple but easy to use.
'Inspiration' xxx
