What is this?
Project Dayshoot+30 is a visual celebration of the state of Oregon in all its forms. It's also the commemoration of an earlier project — Project Dayshoot — that took place on July 15, 1983. On that date, over 90 photographers spread out across the state and shoot photographs in a 24-hour period. The result was an exhibit at the Oregon Historical Society and, later, a book called One Average Day.
On Monday, July 15, to mark the 30th anniversary of Project Dayshoot, a group of the original photographers will join with new contributors to once again capture a single day in the life of our state. To reflect the changes that have occurred in technology and journalism in the last three decades, we are adding a video component this year, and the best photographs and videos will be chosen to appear on a website. There are also plans for a physical exhibit and another book.
This year's project is a partnership with the Oregon Historical Society, and participants will have the option of donating copies of their images to the OHS archives.
It would be good if we posted images here on 365project during the week of July 15-22 and tage them "dayshoot30". This is the tag the project is using (we have omitted the # at the beginning). Let's have some fun with this.
Oregon is literally my favourite place in the world- from Crater Lake to Powell's City of Books. Unfortunately I'm stuck in England- but I can't wait to see the photos! :D
@colie If we stick to the rules of the this project, then yes only July 15 and those images could be posted until the 22nd. However, I posted this to let people have fun (and I never liked rules anyway), just so this does not carry on forever, any image of somewher in Oregon taken by July 22 could be included. This is not a contest with winners, it is to enjoy making the image.
Here is a link to information on dayshoot 30. It looks like you can use the # on Vine, Flickr, Facebook, Twitter, Google+ or Instagram with the tag #dayshoot30
Maybe for sharing options here on 365 we omit the # like you said. It might be good to edit that tag in your original post here so people don't get confused and can see each others photos:)
