When my proposal got turned down from another to host this challenge, I knew it was gunna be messy from the start. It's gunna end in an unorthodox way also.
I can't choose....one, because I am so incredibly indecisive, two, because I escaped my confines this week and don't have a big screen to clearly see all the entries and three, I think the effort, frustration and gumption most felt doing this needs to be shared and chosen with other eyes than my own.
PRETTY PLEASE....it's only a page and a few on two really to look through....
I am asking of you to all to look through, choose the photo that you think best fits the brief and reply here with
The NAME Of the PHOTO...the title...you find most fitting
I do apologise for being painful...forgive me?
The guidelines were
-the rim light should be the key feature of the image
- The light must come from well behind the subject (e.g. no overhead sun or
high spotlight) and not side lit.
- No silhouettes, the subject must be easily discernible.
- No visible light source (e.g. the sun can not be in the image).
- No translucent subjects (e.g. flower petals, stained glass windows)
I think it'll be easier in the end if we follow a pattern in voting. How about we follow this pattern?

It's the same method we use to post pics in 'your favorite fav of someone else'.
It's so much quicker to count photos than going through text when the voting ends. Even if you add additional text like why you chose that particular pic, the photo still stands out. I'll add my vote below as an example.
I think golden hour coffee best fits the requirements of lighting, not just a silhouette, clearly discernable objects, and no translucent objects. http://365project.org/myhrhelper/365/2013-07-19
@welcometocarolworld good on you. This was a hard technique as there's a difference between low key and rim lighting, but getting that difference in your shot is hard. All of us that tried deserve a little recognition (even if comes from ourselves) and Yes, your shot would be in top 5.
@gigiz I understand your difficulty in choosing some finalists, it seems like only those who partook or tried the technique are having a look. Could we see if someone not connected would like to pick 5 or 6 top shots for voting on? Maybe Ross or whoever started the technique challenges?
That is a hard choice, so many wonderful shots. I go with Golden coffee hour. If I understand the rim light technique , I think this is a good representation.
