Wow, thanks so much for picking my photograph as the winner for the ETSOOI-19 Challenge. Who knew the “Lipstick Tint” tool in Picmonkey could turn a black and white photo into a glorious rainbow of colors/colours? Just goes to show that you can use all kinds of tools for editing a photo. Now it’s time for the next ETSOOI challenge!
ETSOOI stands for "Edit The S... Out Of It" Apparently you can fill in the blank (I like “Shenanigans” personally). Extreme editing is a lot of fun for those of us who love to play with Photoshop and/or other editing software. If you've never done it, now is the time to give it a try. Hey, if I can use a lipstick tool, you can use something fun too!
The ETSOOI Challenge - 20 will start tomorrow, Tuesday, October 1st and end on Monday, October 7th at midnight Eastern Time (EST). I will then look through the entries and select the five finalists and post them so that you can vote for your favorite. The winner will be announced by Wednesday, October 9th and will then host the next challenge.
Your entries for this challenge must be taken on or between October 1st and October 7th to be considered.
It’s October and it’s time to get your macabre on! This week’s subject will be "SPOOKY.” You may interpret that in any way you wish.
Make sure you tag you photos ETSOOI-20. You may also post them here if you like.
So have some fun editing the Shenanigans out of your shots.
This one is a combination of two pics. One is a window in a dark room and the other one is my white dress. Used zoom burst technique on both pics to double up for technique challenge 'zoom burst'. Hope it's spooky enough.
Quick question -- does the photo need to be taken after October 1, or the processing has to occur during this week? It would make a difference in which photo I would use for this -- prefer the one from 9/30, but could go back and re-take it or use another.
@taffy It starts Oct. 1 (meaning can be taken that day)and goes through the 7th (and posted by midnight my time EST), so it would be outside the range unfortunately. :(
@neuner123 Hey Emily, Unfortunately, this photo does not quality as it was taken outside the dates of the challenge (which is Oct. 1-Oct. 7). Maybe you could take one tonight or tomorrow? I do love your shot, though.
Thanks Daryl! Many little steps of editing led to my composition. I took a photo of my husband's sculpture the other day, cropped it and overlayed cloud photos. I added the cloud about 4 times, rotated each of them and blended them with my Paintshop paint brush. Then I tinted the resulting composition blue. Using Pic Monkey, I enhanced the contrast, added a sketchy frame then overlayed a smudgy texture. I really liked how the figure looked truly "caught" so, after fine tuning the smudge effect, I figured I'd achieved my spooky goal!
