Wow! Can I just say, you all amaze me! Such an incredible variety of shots and subjects and just pure awesome macro and close-up-ness. Very, very cool.
As we enter the second week of "Macro March", I am going to suggest that we tweak the tag slightly and start tagging by week, since there were over 800 photos tagged just in week 1! So, if you are joining in and shooting a macro or close-up photo this week (March 8-14th), let's make the tag macro-march2.
Just a reminder that if you are sharing a photo to this discussion or tagging a photo for the theme, please try to spend a few minutes searching the tag and commenting on two or more other Macro March photos. Everyone loves comments and feedback, and with 800 photos in a week, no one person could keep up with them all!
Finally, if you want, we are having an optional "mini theme" for each week. Last week's theme was "thinking about the idea of depth of field and focus." This week, let's think about our backgrounds. A big issue with close-up photographs is the temptation to get so focused on your subject that you forget the background entirely! You can read more about Macro Fakery: Background Creation on my blog. I also posted a review of the cheap (< $12 USD) close-up lens set that I use for a lot of my macro shots: Product Review: Close-Up Lens Set.
Again, apologies if I missed tagging you (so many to keep track!) - please let me know in the comments, and I will add you next week. Jump in any time!
While out trying to get a macro shot on thursday i was attacked by a mozzie... I was unsure if it was to gross to post but i was really happy with my focus.. Especially since i know what i must have looked like trying to get the shot.. This was my arm... Lol...

I wanted to try the fake background but found the original one quite natural and suitable. Will try with my next macro shot.
I'm amazed at the beautiful shots this challenge elicits. Very stimulating, indeed.
not really with the theme but I hit the part in the book where he uses a fisheye lens for a close-up. I've never thought about that and decided to give it a shot with the fisheye setting on my bridge camera.
