Okay... this is my third attempt at starting this thread. Let's hope it's the charm...

This was a hard choice, but I settled on an artist I was introduced to through the 365 community....
Elliott Erwitt was born in July of 1928 in Paris, France, and grew up in the United States. He studied photography and filmmaking at Los Angeles City College and the New School for Social Research. In 1953, three years after finishing his education, he joined the Magnum Photos agency, which allowed him to work on photography projects around the world.
The challenge will run for two weeks, from Monday, July 21 to Sunday, August 3.
Thanks to everyone for playing along, and I hope you have some fun with it.
@nataliemac Hi Natalie. The Artist Challenge was started to help us approach our work in new ways while hopefully adding names to our own private cache of art we enjoy. The challenge is to browse through the work of this week's artist and either reinterpret or recreate one of his pieces, or you can come up with your own material done in his style or with his subjects.
Oh I love this guy. He's featured in the World Photography book I've had for years. I've spent a lot of time puzzling over his pictures. It will be tricky, and fun, to use his style.
@louuncouth it's a shame this Challenge is almost over, I noticed you didn't tag the entrants from the previous challenge which is always a help as we don't always see the thread. I will have to see whether I have any shots for this week.

Last week's artist was David Hilliard. You can take a look at some of his work here: http://www.davidhilliard.com/2006_2010.html
and you can browse through the entries on 365, to get an idea of the challenge: http://365project.org/tags/ac-hilliard
