Thank you all for selecting my photo in the recent Artist Challenge theme. I’ve never even been a finalist in this theme, much less a winner, and am a little out of my comfort zone in choosing an artist to inspire us over the next few weeks. After perseverating on this for the past week, visiting the Art Institute for inspiration and walking around the city, my choice is an iconic artist that gives us all many different opportunities for creating an homage or an image in his likeness: Pablo Picasso
I chose Picasso because Chicago is known for exceptional street sculptures and art and his sculpture was one the start of the ‘modern’ era of sculptures in Chicago. Here’s one image from my 2014 album and there are many many more online.
There are myriads of sources for exploring his work, so below are two links to get you started:

Because he is so prolific and has experimented successfully with everything from realism to cubism to total whimsy, please add a link to the image that inspired your contribution so that when selecting finalists, I can see what you were working from and how that led to your photograph.
My apologies in advance to those who prefer or more focused, specific, identifiable style. My reason for going with Picasso – in addition to the presence he has in Chicago with his iconic sculpture and his presence in our Art Institute – is the variety of inspirations he can provide for our 365ers. I hope this encourages some new participants and inspires those who have contributed in the past.
The challenge starts today, April 2 and continues through April 18th, 5:00 CST. Voting will occur between April 19th and 21st, when the winner will be announced.
There are no rules apart from taking the photo during the time frame. You may take a photograph that is in the artist's style, or simply be inspired by the artist's work. You may also enter as many pictures as you please

@jackies365 Did you draw that? How cool!! I love the way you used lines to totally convey the creature eating! Which is the image that inspired you? I'm asking that each entry link to one if there was one that inspired so that I can keep that in mind when selecting finalists. If there isn't one in particular, maybe one is the technique? Thank you for entering!!
@taffy If you go to the photo's page the drawings that inspired me have a link. no I didn't draw it. it is a "fancy" paper clip I received as a gift. I did however draw the branch and leaves in photoshop after photographing the paper clip.
Hope you'll have fun with this!

When I was a little girl, I would write letters to Pablo Picasso in my diary (after I discovered he was no longer living).
