Thank you for voting for Tintin Saves The Day & to you all for getting involved.
As @rachelwithey mentioned we're a bit behind with voting so this will be a shorter voting period than normal to try and get us back on track. Voting will close at Midnight PT on Monday 11 July.
So now, it is time to turn your attention to the Get Pushed 205 week's finalists. It just seems so difficult to choose just five as the challenges are tough, varied, and the standard of the photos was very high. There were several great shots that I just
couldn't include. Such a lot of hard work went into the images and hopefully we all
learnt lots along the way. Five finalist is the limit, so here they are, in no particular order:
1. 'Inside the fridge' by LittleQueenie @littlequeenie who was asked to capture something in her fridge using a macro lens. I found this and intriguing abstract shot and like the shallow depth of field and contrast in the image.
2. 'John 1' by Barb Newcomb @beachdog who was asked to take an adult portrait. I loved the strong eye contact and connection that the shot has captured. A great choice of aperture to blur the background and I think the exposure is spot on for the face in tricky lighting conditions.
3. 'inception' by northy @northy who was challenged to try something she had never tried before, like the Harris shutter effect. Have to declare an interest here as I set this challenge! I'd not seen it used with black and white photos before and I liked the way the photo was still northy's style but embraced the technique and the use of colour.
4. 'Get-Pushed-205 - St Micheal's Mount' by Ruby Shepherd @rubyshepherd who received the following challenge: I've never been to Cornwall, so I'd like to challenge you to take a photo/s that might capture a bit of its loveliness. I thought this was a great shot of the mount, with a strong composition and for me captured the magic of this special place.
5. 'Pie for July' by Tracy @tracys whose challenge was to shoot a food/drink picture.
I liked the composition and choice of shooting the pie before it was baked, which was unusual and eye-catching. Just made me want to be there when the pie came out the oven!
