Vote for Your Favorite Yuya Parker Artist Challenge Shot

I have been side-lined due to computer issues so I was unable to experiment with this highly creative and contemporary photographer's style but several 365ers took up the baton and ran with it! Yuya's work is most noticeable for its bright colors and clean look so that was the starting point for my judging criteria. Some of the finalists chose to imitate one of his originals and others put their own twist on him. I've included my humble assessment with each one and now it's up to you to pick the winner. In the end I went with 6 because two of them were so close in replication I could not see leaving one or the other out. Here are the finalists I chose:

1. The Fruit is the Reality by @iris52

Iris nailed his "food as contemporary art" concept in my opinion.

2. Watermelon Sugar High by @grammyn

Katy absolutely nailed his cascading watermelon shot entitled "Summer Fruit".

3. Artist Wannabe by @monikozi

Not only did this capture his eye for bold colors but it impressively includes a GIF which Parker often puts into his product photography.

4. Vodka by @nickspicsnz

Nick has replicated Parker's product shots perfectly. I'm not a drinker but I sure want to grab those strawberries and gobble them up!

5. Lemon Cup by @kali66

Kali's picture is another excellent replication of one of Yuya's most well-known series.

6. Still Life with Perfume, Lime and Butterflies by @catcarter

CAT has done a great job in putting her own unique twist on Parker's color palette and subject matter.

A huge thanks to all who took part in this challenge. You really did make it hard for me to select the finalists. Now it's up to you 365 to vote for the winner.

Voting will run from Wednesday November 17 to Sunday November 21 midnight all time zones. I'll announce the winner early next week.
