The camera was a can of cambel's soup (emptied and washed) with roughly a f/128 hole punch in it....
The can was made light tight with eletrical tape shutter and a filter covered in more tape 67mm I believe as the film door.
The film was ATP1.2 ISO 35 shoot at 12 ISO for 8 seconds...
Since it is handheld there is some camera shake hence the image is a little soft. The image stable software does not seem to be working?!?
The subject is a 500 watt hotlight....
The blue colour comes from the film base and the top and bottom edges are the raw film that was covered in tape to hold the neg to the inside of the camera...
Baking was done with Photographers Form #3 equal parts A and B mixed with 6 additional parts water for 21 mins with a twist every 2 mins.
I had hoped to put the light in about zone VI and had I scanned this as a negative I think it would have worked...
I fixed with standard kodak fixer... after a brief wash this image was SOOC after untaping it from the side of the camera.
Getting chemicals in and out of the can camera was difficult as there was no light tight method of adding or removing so I did it at roughly 2 am with all the house lights turned off.
@marshy15 Thanks I actually took two tonight... I had thought it was about a f32 hole so I shoot a landscape which was about 5 LUX with a 2 hour exposure... film came out blank... so for exposure number 2 I went with the hotlight to make sure SOMETHING baked into the film...
Reminds me of my pinhole camera pics I made 10 years back using a cookies-tin :-)) Makes me curious were they are after all those years; I know for sure I have kept them (and the tin) Looking forward to that landscape!!
what a great weekend project, but not having any of the chemicals I am not sure how I would explain the need for correct processing to the 16 year old store clerk at the local drug store.
@brumbe now is a great time to need photog chems... they are very cheap...
You could get a roll of 120 Ilford ($6), D-76 powder ($3) and Fixer ($3) and mix the chems in two windshield washer 4 l containers.
Or buy someones darkroom online (there seems to often be one for sale) offer them $50 and likely more will take it.
@elke I looked everywhere in the house for a cookie-tin... would have been much easier with it's square sides...
@manek43509 ROLF ues I guess it is Straight Out Of Can... gives a new meaning to the old hollywood says "Shots in the Can"
@marshy15 The landscape was from 10:30 til about 12:30 midnight in the middle of a rain storm (yes the camera is weather sealed) I am going to try one today during the day.
@eyebrows like many things in life the manufacture is saying it is operator error... the idiots... spent all night talking with their tech department.
I made a comment on these about being SOOC, more tongue in cheek than anything, didn't get much of a response, Glad to see you're getting a better one!
@shadesofgrey Not the general public... just the 1/2 who figure anything that is not SOOC is junk and lazy and the other 1/2 who don't think SOOC exists... wait... ok I stand corrected yes just insult everyone...
if you look back through the threads I start (ie Why the Popular page is just average, ect) I don't take photography that seriously... I just had to prove @jinximages wrong about SOOC not being real...
@icywarm Amen to that. Friend of mine made a giant pinhole camera a couple of weeks ago - about a 5' cube. Awesome results. Set up a digicam inside to show what was being captured as it worked.
I have a self portrait that I took back in high school for art class from a homemade camera made out of a box and an empty toilet paper roll. So it can be done. Wow... I haven't thought of that homemade camera in ages. I got an A on that project, too!

Love it :D
Basically I just... I...
When did you take the landscape, as in time of day?

haha, thank you!
Well, "SOOC" thread always open a can of worms - so it's nice to see a more light-hearted one, every so often!

Well I am off to make an IR Lith....
But that is moot... it was a print SOOC... digital images are proofs at best...
