My parents have always had dogs and and when they brought Monty home as a pup, my dad was 80 yrs old. We were all upset because of their age and worried it wasn't fair to a young dog. Well, for about five years, mom, dad, and Monty did fine. I lived close by and took Monty for regular walks, he had 24 hour love and companionship from my parents and lots of play time with great-grandchildren. A couple years ago they decided to hand Monty over to my son and grandchildren where he has been living a charmed life with my son's young family on a lake.
A few days ago my dad was put on hospice care and changes are occurring very fast and he is now only sleeping. My son lives out of town and he drove in for the day and brought Monty...he knew exactly where he was needed 🐾❤️
How wonderful for Monty and so sensitive of your brother to take Monty to see your Dad Monty certainly looks so comfortable and is comforting I am sure . My thoughts and prayers are with you and the family at this difficult time !
And I'm sure your father can feel him there; Such a tender and sad capture. You and your family will be in my thoughts and prayers too as you walk your dad Home ((hugs))
This is just the ultimate capture of "man's best friend." Monty obviously has a connection to your father that none of us could explain. My thoughts are with you all.
That is such a beautiful storey Debra,it broufht a tear to my eye. Dogs have such an inate ability to make people feel better,it looks as if he has taken a bit of pain away from your dad.
Such a lovely and touching capture and story, both sad and beautiful. Monty looks very contented here; as you say, he knew just where he was needed. Thinking of you and your family (of course including Monty).
A lovely story and I know exactly what is meant by the inner sense - it is amazing what the dogs can pick up from those around them - whenever anyone is ill in this house our eldest dog will always be very close and provide companionship - this photo tells such a great story - touching
