Here's a montage of a protea and a blue-winged kookaburra. I took the shots on our recent visit to the Cotswold Wildlife Park. To me these are exotic species but I've seen photos of both posted by people for whom they are part of their everyday lives, or who, at any rate, are able to photograph them in natural surroundings without having to travel very far. Wow!

They're gorgeous! And you're right , this site definately lets us see the native flora and fauna from around the world which is one of the great things about it. Hope those in Oz etc are just as pleased to see our shots of sparrows and blackbirds!!
