The art of the machine

very cool POV... love the colours and focal point

I gotta say, I took about 20 shots of this. The ones I posted only remotely said what I wanted to say. But still left a lot to be desired. I have several shots like this one too. It was bl**dy difficult to get what I wanted from this and I did not achieve it.

Your abstracts are always fascinating! Interesting focal point.

@netkonnexion Yes, too right it was b. difficult! Low light on this part of the machine and it needed a very awkward stance to get a decent angle, even for the shorties amongst us! I think I got what I wanted here in terms of composition - a sense of the lines of paint almost running/draining down to the screw - but the shallow dof makes me want to weep, it would look soooo much better with a *lot* more dof. But I didn't want to push the ISO any higher than 1600 to achieve a narrower aperture; higher than 1600 ISO on the 6D and I get more noise than I'm usually willing to accept.
Also wondering if I misplaced the point of focus. :-/

Love the contrast between the sharply focused bolt threads and the increasingly blurred shade. And love the colours.
