11th January 2019

I was working hard all morning pulling the cards ready for another marathon session of card making for delivery next week. I am also beginning to work on a possible calendar concept which, if I do decide to go ahead will go to print next month as there is a large printers discount. I am thinking of a small run of 100 to start in A4 format retailing at around £10.99… there’s a lot of work and I need to consider my profit margins.

In the afternoon I had a list of things to do in Kingston including a card count at Bentalls. Imagine my surprise when I discovered that every single spinner has been removed from the lower ground floor including my one purchased by me. My range of 32 card designs have diminished to just 8 designs on display in the ‘Art’ section of cards. Apparently there has been a directive from Head Office so I need to draft and strongly worded email to find out what it going on. I am so cross, it took me over 2.5 years to negotiate my way into the shop. I have signed agreements and spent a lot of money purchasing a custom built spinner at the shops request. I am not going to take this ‘lying down’ but realistically I know I am just a very small supplier in their supply chain and one that obviously is not valued at all.
