We had walk this morning to deliver the last of our local cards. We did very well, covering most of Teddington and socially distanced chatted with our neighbours outside in the Crescent Technically we are breaking the law now as we should only meet one person but as we ‘came upon’ them as it were, the law can go stuff itself! It made me feel a bit better hearing everyone else’s change in plans - we are in this together - apart from Dominic Cummings.
I checked with the newsagent where I had dropped the parcels yesterday and they had only just been collected. There are now just 3 days to get them to their final destinations.
As we no longer are going to Cornwall, we have no Christmas food in the house other than what I had planned to take to Mums. We thought we’d treat ourselves to something from M&S but… warnings to people NOT to stockpile food due to massive queues of lorries stuck in Kent has fallen on deaf ears and most shelves were bare in the shop. There were precisely 2 turkey crowns left on the shelf that at £78 each remained on the shelf. We are not that desperate . The only purchase I made was a sprout tree… I love sprouts so I’ll be alright!
