11th January 2021

Day 299 since the start of the 1st lock down.

Today is James’s birthday (Colin’s grandson), he is sixteen. We had sent him and Charley (whose birthday it was yesterday) cards and hand made vouchers but although we sent them first class last Thursday, they still have not arrived. The Royal Mail employees have been hit by Covid19 and a number of areas across the country have delays on first class post of up to 10 days.

I decided to send my friends daughter’s birthday presents using Hermes again as they were so good before Christmas with parcels going to Mum and Hester in Cornwall and North Yorkshire. It needs to be there by Sunday but I am hoping it will make it mid week.

In the evening we went for our second ‘trot’ in Bushy Park and this time I was wearing my new reflective waistcoat. It really does work well and Colin said I was glowing which means at least everyone should see me coming! Colin did take a photo of me but it was so bright it was blurred - so here is one of the antique lamps from around the Diana Fountain circle.
