12th January 2021

Day 300 since the start of the 1st lock down.

The morning I concentrated on sorting out the paperwork ready for my annual card count. It will not be a complete count at the moment as many of my Christmas cards are currently still on display on shops that are closed during this lock down. I also called Mum to catch up and it was really lovely to chat although we had little news to tell each other.

In the afternoon I planned a different walk to try and avoid the crowds and it worked. We headed to Strawberry Hill House where we visited once or twice during the first lock down. There was only about 2 other people there and it was lovely to walk around the grounds admiring both the building and the mature trees - in fact we ended up getting locked in along with a lady with a pram but luckily we spotted the security guard who kindly unlocked the gate to let us out. We walked home the long way through some streets I have never seen before. It was lovely to see a number of houses with lights still up and I have decided to try and get a set of lights which are more spring-like than Christmassy and I will put them around the front door again.

Great shot of a beautiful building

@bkbinthecity Thank you - it needs a bit of repaint at the moment! I am very envious of your snow - we were promised some here in Teddington today but it warmed up and ended up as torrential rain instead! I hope you are both well in Canada... it's not too good here in the UK.
