15th January 2021

Day 303 since the start of the 1st lock down.

We got up a bit earlier this morning and headed out to Bushy Park as we had missed running for the past few days due to the weather. It was pretty nippy and I tried out my new beany hat which looked great but fell off half way around as it is not that tight so it may be relegated to a walking hat! Frost and ice in the park. I baked some croissants I had frozen from M&S which quadrupled in size as a reward.

A little later I investigated changing fuel company as our contract with Octopus is expiring at the beginning of March and renewal will put the price up by £14 a month. We are looking at Bulb which I like the green credentials of and could save us over £250 a year on the renewal costs.

The big news of the day was that Colin had his first Covid19 vaccination this evening. We walked into Hampton as the Greenwood Community Centre has very little parking and the streets are very narrow. I can say we were truly amazed - I had not expected to be able to go in and thought there would be a long queue. In the event there was no queue at all, we had a very warm welcome and I was allowed in with Colin. The whole thing was incredibly well organised and literally within 2 minutes of arrival Colin had had his vaccination and was sitting in a seat for the obligatory 15 minute wait to check he didn’t keel over!

I am really impressed that just over 3-4 weeks of first approving the Pfizer vaccine, Colin has had his first vaccination. We are not quite sure when the second will be but 12 weeks at the latest. I am now hoping that Mum has hers very soon as well - she is going to be calling up on Monday to see if she can get a date.

Heavy snow has been forecast for tomorrow morning but will be gone by late morning so I am ready with the camera kit and have planned the places I want to get photos of for possible new Christmas cards….
