22nd May 2021

1 year, 57 days since the start of the 1st lock down in March 2020

Hooray, after a rainy start, the clouds cleared after lunch. Before we headed out for a walk to the nearby port of Newlyn, Mum and I put on a massive turkey to look which Mum had originally bought for all of us for Christmas Day. Sadly after the relaxation on arrangements for meeting over this break were revoked, it stayed in the freezer taking up an entire drawer. It was very big but we just managed to fit it in the oven!

The we walked out to Newlyn and before we had even got to the harbour we had to take part in the tradition of having a Jelberts ice cream. Excellent homemade vanilla ice cream from a local shop.

The weather could not have been more different to yesterday and we even got to see two lifeboats in port. This is the sunshine on Newlyn with some red Valerian in the foreground.

We wandered back and Mum and I put together the rest of the Christmas meal complete with roast potatoes, carrots and sweet potato in orange, o version of Cranberry sauce almost as good as my home made, gravy and greens. It was delicious and almost worth waiting 5 months for!
