21st May 2021

1 year, 56 days since the start of the 1st lock down in March 2020

It was positively hammering down with rain all night and into the morning along with strong gales again but who cares as we are finally down in Cornwall and seeing Mum and Ian.

In the morning we popped to Lidl and picked up a few things and then despite the weather not improving that much we decided to brave it over to the North Coast for a walk. We drove to Cape Cornwall which we have visited before as it has a very impressive rugged coastline. In the event it was difficult to persuade ourselves out of the car as the wind was so strong. We did get out and the waves were amazing. We climbed to the top of the hill past the Coastwatch station. It was hard going but we managed a very wet selfie at the top as evidence!

On the walk back to the car - it was a short walk - I spotted 5 seals that appeared to just be playing in the waves - great to see.
