3rd July 2021

1 year, 99 days since the start of the 1st lock down in March 2020

Chris came over in the afternoon to watch the quarter finals of the football in the evening England are playing the Ukraine for a play in the semis. I’ll admit that I have no intent at all in the football or most sports but I do hope they win as it will be something positive for everyone in these strange times.

Before the game we walked with Branston over to the Hamlands. There are some lovely meadows with many wild flowers there and I saw a lot of butterflies as well with a number of Marbled Whites. I also started to play around with the ‘Snapseed’ app on my phone and discovered a multiple exposure function so here is Branston merged with a dandelion seed head which looks rather like him.

Colin rustled u a great BBQ this time with a shoulder of lamb, sausages and chicken thighs. I prepped the veg. After dinner we (well I was rather intermittent) watched the football and amazingly we won 4-0 against Ukraine so we go onto the semi-finals next Tuesday!
