1 year, 108 days since the start of the 1st lock down in March 2020
It was raining this morning but even so we drove to Norwich which I had last briefly visited back in 1998 when I was a guest at my friend Sarah’s wedding. I had not had a chance to explore back then but as we were looking for specific places connection with Colin’s family history, we really were seeing all the nooks and crannies of the town. It is a lovely place with so much history. Less historically we started our day there with a scone and pot of tea at John Lewis!
We found all the places we were looking for or at least references to what had been there in the past. We even had a private tour inside one of the churches that had been deconsecrated and is now an amazing wedding venue complete with fancy sofas and a drinks bar with fairy lights. Luckily a woman had overheard us discussing if this was a certain church and invited us in as she now manages the church as an alternative wedding venue and it sure is alternative.
The rain cleared and the sun cam out in the afternoon. We splashed out on a Waitrose lunch and ate it in a local park followed by an ice cream. Afterwards we explored the old lanes and ended up at the cathedral which was just getting ready to open displaying ‘Dippy’ on tour from the Natural History Museum in London!
