24th October 2021

1 year, 205 days since the start of the 1st lock down in March 2020

Today we had a lunch date with Colin’s friend from work many years ago. We had planned to meet a few weeks ago but we were all worried about having enough fuel and having now experienced the traffic on the almost 1.5 hour journey each way (for less than 20 miles), I think we were wise.

The Warren is a lovely building now owned by the Met Police as a sports club and social place. Colin caught up with Tim and the majority of the conversation at first concerned friends they had known that have passed away so not particularly upbeat! We enjoyed a three course roast dinner (definitely not ‘Fat Fighters’ food) and generous slices of beef and lamb. I felt stuffed afterwards. It was nice to go out and meet friends.

Upbeat end of the day as after just over 2 weeks of working to reassure our new addition to the family - Pingado Hamster - he actually came out onto my hand. It was brief but I managed to stroke him and not a bite in sight!
