11th November 2021

1 year, 223 days since the start of the 1st lock down in March 2020

I was looking forward to today as I had bought a ticket to the Country Living Christmas show. Although it is normally more fun going with someone, I went anyway. Last year it was cancelled for the obvious reason that most things were cancelled. The organisation did their best with a virtual show and I did buy a few things but it was very hard work doing it on line as opposed to browsing stores and then returning to ones that looked good.

The journey up was not too bad on the train and 2 tubes although many people are no longer wearing face masks despite the fact it is a ‘condition of carriage’ according to the TFL notices.

The Country Living show was a little smaller than in past years but I did very well anyway. Everyone stopped at 11.00am after an announcement to take part in the 2-minutes silence for Remembrance Day and a lone bugler played the Last Post, quite moving. I left after 4 hours of shopping, having only stopped briefly to eat my home made sandwich and a little cheat of a salted caramel brownie and a coffee - delicious.
