Architectural falsehood?

Old State Capitol, Baton Rouge, Louisiana

Mark Twain hated this building, calling it an "architectural falsehood" and the ugliest building on the Mississippi River. I guess not everyone agreed, because it was renovated and reopened after suffering fire damage during the Civil War. It is now a museum.
Rather like it - nice castle-like turret in the building.

I think it's pretty too ... better than the all glass things that cause the birds to crash, etc. Lovely capture, great perspective!

I wonder if he was refering to the castle like architecture when he made this comment. Glad that is still around and being used
