The river that burned

The Cuyahoga River, Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio

It's lovely now, but in the 1960's this river was so polluted that it actually caught fire in nearby Cleveland, Ohio. Randy Newman wrote a song about it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7SKGIwsXuA0.
