Back of the Big House by eudora

Back of the Big House

was a double row of slave cabins and, at the end of the road, the sugar mill. I posted a similar photo a couple of days ago--sorry! This is a different row of live oak trees. This plantation has more buildings than most, so it's easier to imagine what life was like on an antebellum sugar plantation.

Evergreen Plantation, Edgard, Louisiana
LOVE IT! Love the moss covered trees.

@micjop Thanks--and thanks for the follow! We went to Destrahan plantation a year or so ago. We were planning to go to New Orleans this week to take photos, but something came up so we visited Evergreen instead.

No live oaks, moss or plantations in Connecticut. Thank you for the tour and commentary. :) H.

Your trees are really cool, we don't have such things up here. Love the lines.

A completely different world- but so beautiful. Sadly, not as beautiful for those who called those buildings home.
