At Houmas House, one of the best-restored and most-visited plantation houses in Louisiana.
The bridal couple lucked out. We had miserable, rainy weather all week, but on Friday it was beautiful--for just one day, for the wedding.
I was talking to the wedding photographer a couple of hours before the ceremony. She may have been from out of town.
"Have you been inside that house??" she asked. I replied that I had, many times, as I often brought out-of-town guests here.
"It's really old," she said, incredulously. Yep. 1828. That's why people visit it. And have their weddings there.
What a fantastic place to have a wedding- especially a Christmas one. Had to laugh at the wedding photographer though. Does she think that only new houses will hold up? Fun story, pretty shot!
