Chemical Corridor

Chemical plants are found all along the Mississippi River in Louisiana, so I've decided to photograph a few. This is Honeywell in Baton Rouge. The pink glow in the sky is from the approaching sunset, not a chemical release.

Shot on film with my thrift store camera, a Pentax IQZoom.
Very nice shot. We have a section here called Refinery Row which is all about the oil and gas we have here

aren't the chemical plants the ugliest of constructions...and they are usually in lovely places like on the Mississippi River, wonder what Mark Twain would think of this

A real mish-mash of metal and pipes, but I suppose they're a necessity. Shame they can't be hidden by lovely green trees!

We pass by a rock salt plant on our way to our son who lives in Batavia, NY and it always looks somewhat ugly during the day. But at night, when it's all lit up- it's so pretty! I imagine the same thing happens here. Glad to know the color of the sky is thanks to Nature and not something else. Good shot.
