When I was a little girl, my daddy was attending school to become an electrical engineer. I used to sit with him as he studied the different capacitors, resistors, and diodes. I was probably 11 or 12 before I realised that not all kitchen tables had wee tiny holes in them from where daddies built circuit boards at the table.
When a gadget breaks I can't resist taking it apart to see what's inside. Electronics have certainly changed a lot in the last 50 years!
Cool shot! Electronics was never quite the right field for me - I kept accidentally putting them together wrong at college, and breaking the components...
Memories are very often tripped or brought to the surface of my mind by little things. I can remember my Dad building/putting together our first color TV from a kit ( https://shop.heathkit.com/shop) Brought back some very happy memories for me, thank you.
@alia_801Thank you! @joysabin I helped my Daddy do the very same thing! We didn't have one until he built it when I was 16. The smell of electronics always triggers those memories. Thank you!
Interesting - they are amazing aren't they and we put so much trust in these little circuits to run our lives and hold our memories. What is the yellow blob - is that adhesive?
